Site Coordinator - Duke Legacy Center (Lancaster Site)
POSITION: Site Coordinator (full-time, 9:30am-6:30pm)
**This position may require occasional overtime to ensure safe and proper closure of the site
HOURLY PAY: $20.75 (may vary based on qualifications/availability)
LOCATION: Duke Legacy Center, 45404 Division Street, Lancaster
Position Summary
The Site Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating innovative youth programs that promote 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and social-emotional learning. This role engages youth from elementary through high school while strengthening relationships with families, schools, and the broader Antelope Valley community. The Coordinator also supports the Club’s pantry operations, assists the Program Director with overall site needs, and contributes to grant management, compliance, and reporting to ensure alignment with funding requirements and organizational standards.
Program Development and Tracking
The Site Coordinator develops and implements quarterly program plans that emphasize 21st century skills, ensuring they are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the Boys & Girls Club mission. They are responsible for facilitating daily activities, monitoring youth participation and attendance, and evaluating program outcomes. The Coordinator tracks data consistently to measure impact and uses results to recommend improvements that maintain program quality and effectiveness.
Grant Management and Compliance
This position assists the Program Director in maintaining compliance with grant requirements by ensuring program activities meet outlined objectives and standards. The Coordinator collects, organizes, and analyzes data to demonstrate outcomes and prepares timely, accurate reports for funders, stakeholders, and leadership. By supporting grant compliance and reporting processes, the Coordinator helps sustain and expand program resources.
Food Distribution and Pantry Support
The Site Coordinator plays an active role in planning and supporting weekly pantry operations to serve youth and their families. They help coordinate logistics, manage volunteer and staff support, and ensure food distribution processes run smoothly. Pantry services are integrated into overall Club operations as a way to address community needs and strengthen family engagement.
Community Engagement and Outreach
A key part of the role involves building connections with schools, families, and community partners to recruit and retain youth participants. The Coordinator represents the Boys & Girls Club at school functions, community events, and resource fairs, while also collaborating with local organizations to bring valuable resources and opportunities into the Club. Outreach efforts focus on increasing program attendance and visibility throughout the Antelope Valley community.
Family Engagement
The Site Coordinator actively builds relationships with youth participants’ families to strengthen trust, encourage consistent attendance, and promote long-term engagement in programming. This includes regular communication with parents and guardians, hosting family-focused events, connecting families to resources, and ensuring they are included as partners in their child’s development and success at the Club.
Required Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, leadership ability to motivate and inspire youth, and effective classroom and group management. Creativity and innovation in program design are essential, as well as the ability to adapt programming to reflect the diverse needs of youth in the Antelope Valley. Strong organizational and time management skills are required, and familiarity with grant compliance and reporting processes is preferred.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. One to three years of experience working with youth in a school, community center, or nonprofit setting is required. Additional experience in program coordination, community outreach, family engagement, food pantry support, or grant management is strongly preferred. Candidates must pass a background check and meet Boys & Girls Club compliance requirements.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required for community events, family nights, and organizational programming. Hours may be adjusted based on program needs and may also include overtime when handling site emergencies or late pick-ups.
