Role Overview:
O6 Environmental is a self-performing environmental contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering complex remediation and construction projects across the U.S. We're hiring a dedicated Site Health & Safety Officer to support a long-term, multi-phase environmental remediation project in Guthrie, OK.
This project includes both clean construction and environmental scopes. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing the site-specific Health & Safety Plan, conducting daily safety oversight, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA, project, and client-specific safety standards. This is a key leadership role with direct responsibility for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment across all trades and phases of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning activities
- Enforce compliance with the Cimarron site-specific Health & Safety Plan and all federal/state regulations
- Conduct routine site inspections and hazard assessments; document and track corrective actions
- Support subcontractor onboarding and review of safety documentation (JSAs, permits, certifications)
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and closeout
- Coordinate with the client's safety representatives and participate in weekly project meetings
- Maintain accurate safety logs, observations, and documentation in digital platforms
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of field safety experience in environmental remediation, civil construction, or heavy industrial projects
- Demonstrated experience enforcing site-specific safety plans in active construction or remediation environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, craft workers, and client representatives
- Proficient with digital reporting tools (Excel, PDF forms, or Procore Safety module preferred)
- Certifications : OSHA 30 (required); HAZWOPER 40 (required); CHST, STS-C, or CSP (preferred)
