The Site Safety & Health Manager will play a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture across active job sites, ensuring compliance, and supporting field teams through proactive, boots-on-the-ground leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Site Safety & Health Manager for active construction projects
Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and company-wide safety programs
Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations
Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for field personnel
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports and corrective action plans
Partner closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to promote a safety-first mindset
Maintain safety documentation, certifications, and compliance records
Act as a resource and advocate for employees, ensuring a safe and productive work environment
Support continuous improvement of safety procedures as projects and teams grow
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Site Safety & Health Manager (SSHO) in construction environments
Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance requirements
Experience conducting site inspections, safety training, and incident investigations
Ability to communicate effectively with field teams, leadership, and external agencies
Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead by example
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with project teams
Preferred Certifications (or ability to obtain)
OSHA 30 (or equivalent)
First Aid / CPR
Additional safety certifications are a plus
