Our client, a well-established and respected industrial systems and services organization, is seeking a Site Superintendent – Field Services to lead on-site execution at a tier 1 food manufacturing facility.
This is a senior field leadership role for a hands-on professional who combines deep mechanical installation experience with the ability to lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, and serve as the primary on-site authority. The Site Superintendent will oversee daily execution, ensure safety and quality compliance, and act as the face of the organization at the customer site.
This role is anchored to a primary site and offers long-term project stability, leadership visibility, and meaningful operational ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Execution
- Lead day-to-day field activities for large capital projects and recurring short-duration installations.
- Oversee mechanical installation, fabrication, welding, equipment assembly, and system integration.
- Serve as the on-site authority for technical decisions, sequencing, and execution.
- Ensure work meets engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and site documentation.
Crew & Subcontractor Oversight
- Direct field technicians and subcontractors across multiple trades.
- Monitor workmanship, safety compliance, and schedule adherence.
- Provide performance feedback and contribute to hiring, advancement, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate work across union and non-union environments as required.
Planning, Scheduling & Coordination
- Plan and schedule manpower, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Anticipate constraints and adjust daily and weekly plans proactively.
- Support estimating and planning by evaluating site conditions and labor needs.
- Act as the primary liaison with customer representatives, engineering teams, and plant leadership.
- Communicate changes in scope, schedule, risk, or cost and collaborate with project leadership to resolve issues.

Qualifications & Experience
Education & Background
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school strongly preferred.
- Ideally 10+ years of industrial mechanical, installation, fabrication, or construction experience.
- Strong preference for experience in food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environments.
- Prior experience leading crews or supervising subcontractors in active job-site settings.
Technical Expertise
- Advanced mechanical aptitude (installation, welding/fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and job-site compliance.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or technical drawings is a plus.
Leadership & Communication
- Strong field leadership presence with the ability to direct teams and represent the organization on site.
- Effective communicator with customers, site leadership, and internal stakeholders.
- Organized, decisive, and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Primarily site-based at a customer manufacturing facility.
- Industrial environment requiring PPE and strict safety and GMP compliance.
- Physical demands include standing, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working around active equipment.
- Travel up to 10–20% to support additional sites as needed.
- Must be self-directed and dependable while working remotely from corporate offices.
