    Compensation Range: $55,000-$85,000 (Comp DOE)

    We are expanding and seeking to expand our team with a highly motivated experienced Senior Precision Machine Programmer.

    The Precision Machine Programmer is responsible for operating computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines, from programming and set-up to operation, in order to produce parts and tools made of metal, plastic, or other advanced materials like Inconel. The ideal candidate must be a proficient programmer with 4-6 years of experience in precision machine programming, possess strong skills in lathe and mill set-up, and have the ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously. The candidate must be efficient and capable of providing quick estimates for custom quotes, as well as meeting committed delivery dates. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and train shop hands and interns as needed. It is essential to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create complex machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating precision CNC mills and/or lathes and/or EDM wire machines
    • Understand and interpret multi-axis CNC programs, intricate layouts, and customer drawings
    • Inspect machined parts (first article)
    • Maintain high standards of quality and safety
    • Complete daily production/quality logs/travelers
    • Manage material certificates
    • Hold team members to high performance standards

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read and comprehend complex mechanical drawings or models (Mastercam/Solidworks or PDFs)
    • Must be able to interpret drawings based on Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) ANSI Y14.5 Standards (1982 and 1994 Baseline)
    • Responsible for accurate and compliant documentation
    • Comfortable working in an ISO9001 environment and embracing continuous improvement
    • Proficient in advanced G-Code and M-Code programming, with the ability to troubleshoot, edit, prove out new processes, perform first piece runs, and recommend changes to programs on multi-axis machine tools quickly and proficiently
    • Strong experience with feeds and speeds for complex materials
    • Ability to use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) as needed
    • Ability to maintain exceptionally tight tolerances
    • Excellent verbal communication skills with peers, leaders, and customers
    • Programming experience/knowledge is beneficial, and experience with Mastercam 2019 or newer is required
    • Must be able to quickly develop de-bug processes to address equipment or tool issues
    • Must be self-sufficient and willing to work within demanding schedules while maintaining high quality and first pass yield metrics
    • Able to lift materials weighing up to 75 lbs
    • Develop, train, and provide technical support to less experienced CNC Operators
    • Provide quick turnaround support and potential rework when necessary
    • Collaborate with and advise the design team on manufacturability
    • Write instruction sheets and tool lists to guide the setup and operation of machining centers
    • Assist in training production operators on the use of new CNC machine control and tools
    • Proficient in computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and working knowledge of MS SharePoint

    Education and Experience

    • 2-year vocational degree in machining or equivalent experience and education
    • Minimum of 8-12 years of direct work-related experience in precision machining
    • Strong experience with Haas controllers is a must
    • Extensive familiarity with high-speed machining for mills is important, and the ability to program live tooling for HAAS Lathes is required

    • This position is based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico
