    MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

    Plumbing Design, Piping & Fire Protection Systems Engineering

    OPPORTUNITY

    For an experienced piping/plumbing engineer with a background in the construction and consulting industry to provide technical and project leadership with other engineers and architects on challenging projects. This key role will develop a broad set of engineering competencies, technical design knowledge and skills by providing piping, plumbing fire protection systems design services for clients throughout North America.

    POSITION

    Reports to the SVP/Director of Engineering. Leads engineering and design to perform load calculations, provide plumbing systems evaluations/equipment selections, and prepares construction drawings and specifications for capital projects. Creates code-compliant bid/construction/permit documents and develops schematics for process utility and building systems such as: treated water, low and high pressure compressed air systems, cleaning and sanitizing systems, natural gas, specialty gas systems, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, ingredient delivery systems, hot water systems, potable and non-potable hot and cold water, sanitary and process waste and vent, , and fire protection systems.

    CANDIDATE

    • BSME, BSMET, BSAE, BSCE; PE or CPD certification a plus
    • 5+ years of experience in piping, plumbing and fire protection systems; knowledge of plumbing codes, building codes, NFPA insurance carrier requirements
    • Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic leadership capabilities
    • Intelligent contributor with a desire to learn and teach others
    • Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities, work independently and complete assignments on schedule
