    Job Description

    As a Data Science & Analytics Intern for Data & Analytics team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to analytics solutions across multiple teams and support key data-driven initiatives at Skechers.

    The intern will help build, test and documents new or improved data science applications and machine learning techniques, develop innovative analytic reports, learn and maintain best practices for change management and collaborate with business leads, data stewards and power users to creatively solve for real-life business problems utilizing large-scale data.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-

    • Evaluate, implement, and improve machine learning techniques to aid business decision making.
    • Contribute to the full model development lifecycle, from ideation, analysis, model creation and operation.
    • Perform ad hoc analysis to uncover insights into business performance, identify business opportunities.
    • Build dashboards by merging and analyzing various data sources, to present insights and conclusions facilitating data self-service.
    • Develop readable, easy to maintain code for running experiments and proofs-of-concept.
    • Collaborate with data and BI engineers, data product managers and business users to explore and create solutions for relevant business problems.
    • Document objectives and solutions in summary as well as technical details.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS-

    • Pursuing bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Data Science or related field.
    • Proficiency with programming and data analysis using Python, Spark, and familiarity with ML libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Sci-kit Learn, TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc.
    • Familiarity with various statistical and machine learning techniques including classification, regression, clustering, and various multivariate methods.
    • Good mathematical foundation in statistics and probability, optimization algorithms, and linear algebra.
    • Familiarity with relational data modeling and SQL for data manipulation and tuning for optimal performance.
    • Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
    • Able to take initiative, be creative, curious, and collaborative.

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE-

    • Strong communication and presentation skills – must be able to effectively articulate technical challenges, explain and present hypotheses and solutions to a wide audience in a clear and concise manner.
    • Familiarity with data analysis, benchmarking, retail, digital & financial analysis, predictive analytics, and BI visualization toolsets.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud-based BI and Analytics technologies.
