    ABOUT SKETCHY:

    Sketchy is an online visual learning platform that helps students effortlessly learn and recall information through a blend of art, story, spaced repetition and memory palace techniques. Sketchy was born when four medical students began creating sketched stories to distinguish and memorize similarly named viruses, as they realized that the same learning methodologies can be used across a variety of subjects.

    Since its inception in 2013, Sketchy has become the premiere learning destination for Medical School students around the world, currently serving over 30,000 active users (or a third of the total 89,000 medical students in the United States) and an alumni base of 100,000+ students. Sketchy is creating the most engaging and effective educational service for students of higher education everywhere by combining visual storytelling with interactive learning tools that together dramatically enhance recall and knowledge acquisition.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    We are seeking a very hands-on, metrics-driven HEAD OF GROWTH MARKETING to help us amplify and expand the connection with our customer including building and optimizing the current B2C sales and marketing engine as well as identifying new ways to acquire customers while building the Sketchy brand.  To be successful in this role you will be strategic, accountable and opportunistic and your ability to manage and measure the customer acquisition funnel is critical.  You are entrepreneurial and a strong leader capable of quickly building a marketing team to execute on demand generation for all current and future products and services.

    Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: Texas, California, New York, Hawaii, Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts, Washington and Washington, D.C. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • GROWTH ANALYTICS Manage the growth analytics function to proactively and continuously mine data to constantly identify opportunities for improvement through the sales and marketing function
    • FUNNEL OPTIMIZATION Owning and optimizing the entire sales funnel from first visit to free trial to paying customer including A/B testing various low-friction consumer flows through the checkout process
    • PLANNING Building a social and marketing content calendar across all owned and third-party channels including identification and management of events and conferences
    • CONTENT  Managing all growth content, including video, editorial/copywriting and art across formats (product pages, emails, blogs, white papers, case studies, social, newsletter, podcasts, etc.) across all owned and third-party platforms
    • PERFORMANCE MARKETING Define, budget and optimize all paid media, SEM/PPC and performance marketing campaigns
    • REFERRAL PROGRAMS AND ORGANIC CAMPAIGNS Building and deploying the most appropriate referral/group programs and organic campaigns that optimize the CAC/LTV equation across consumer segments
    • BRAND AND POSITIONING You will be responsible for the brand guidelines as they relate to company positioning and consumer communication, ensuring the guidelines evolve with the company and are strictly adhered to by all teams
    • DESIGN. Ideating, Developing and deploying all creative marketing assets including company landing pages/website, the purchase funnel (and associated funnel features), all ad units, and all email/app/text messaging and notifications, amongst others
    • SOCIAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Managing the company’s social media efforts across all relevant platforms to significantly grow Sketchy’s reach across both its existing and future target markets – identifying opportunities to create a stronger communication loop between consumers and Sketchy

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on demand generation and funnel optimization at a B2C/technology company (startup experience preferred) with 5+ years of experience as a people manager
    • Consumer focused: experience marketing/selling digital products and services at scale (millions of users)
    • Communication skills are unrivaled, and you know how to make people listen and understand with experience mentoring, coaching, inspiring and developing people
    • Embody the Agile philosophy, always iterating and improving on the process and not just adhering to the ceremony
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
    • Solid understanding of business modeling methodology including forecasting, market size evaluation and market data research
    • Willingness to not only lead, but do

    EDUCATION: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in a similar field of study (MBA preferred but not required)
