    Job Description

    We’re looking for a MARKETING MANAGER to join our team to oversee a variety of marketing responsibilities with a focus on our acquisition, lifecycle and operations needs. We seek an individual who is looking to make a big impact by creating and managing end-to-end campaigns and programs that drive awareness of SkillUp resources. Additionally, this role will be responsible for setting both a short and long term digital marketing strategy and spearheading early-stage marketing operations and analytics efforts, to include back-end analytic support with agency and channel platforms.

    This FULL-TIME ROLE is critical to the success of SkillUp and will report to the VP of Marketing & Communications.

    AS A FULLY REMOTE ORGANIZATION, THIS ROLE CAN BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Emphasis will be on developing and executing campaign initiatives to support conversion and retention metrics, creating, improving and evaluating processes and systems related to marketing productivity, and driving best practices in marketing analytics.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    Growth Marketing (Est: 50% of time)

    • Set the strategy and direction to unlock growth opportunities through scalable marketing campaigns that reach our direct-to-worker audience (B2C)

    • Manage the specific campaigns, content, channels, programs, and internal resources to support acquisition and expansion programs

    • Develop and assist in story-telling and narrative that connects the user lifecycle across all channels, including organic, paid and owned channels

    • A/B test and continuously iterate acquisition creative and channels to optimize for growth: find insights and UX behaviors to test levers in one channel and adapt across others

    • Ensure campaigns are operationalized in a manner that enables performance tracking, optimization of KPIs and analysis against program success

    • Create behavioral and demographic segmentation to support automated nurture and lead scoring initiatives

    • Manage digital advertising placement and performance analysis

    • Regularly interface with cross-departmental projects and issues related to campaign activity and learnings

    • Manage the budget allocation and reconciliation process for campaign spend

    • Collaborate with Marketing, Business Operations and Analytics team members to continually improve marketing effectiveness, build scalable processes, and optimize marketing funnel performance

    • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide tracking across various channels: measure, monitor, and optimize the customer lifecycle

    • Manage third party agency and consulting relationships

    General Marketing & Operations (Est: 50% of time)

    • Partner with other groups, including product and training, to connect customer needs (existing and evolving) to SkillUp resources and solutions

    • Develop messaging and narrative to support on-going campaign and local/national brand needs

    • Collaborate with internal and partner marketing counterparts to develop scalable programs templates/frameworks and implement accordingly

    • Ideate and integrate new tools and processes into our existing martech stack to drive optimization and automation

    • Create documentation, business cases and reporting that ensure supporting stakeholders understand our campaigns, needs and results

    • Develop thought-provoking content to support all areas of team activities including product, fundraising, owned channels, etc.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or communications with specific experience overseeing digital strategy and growth initiatives

    • Experience in campaign management and tracking across multiple marketing channels, e.g. social platforms, email, website, events, digital ads; web analytics 

    • Strong analytical skills; ability to transform data into actionable insights

    • Creative problem solver, skilled at removing obstacles and solutioning around key business problems

    • Project management experience, including the ability to organize a team and work with diverse skill sets (from technical to strategic resources)

    • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into marketing goals, measurements, and operational requirements

    • Excellent writing skills 

    • Skilled in researching, planning, project management

    • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau); Excel master

    • Personal enthusiasm and individual initiative, doer and leader

    • Team player

    • Comfortable working with senior leaders and under tight deadlines

    • Nice to have: experience in the realms of social impact, advocacy, nonprofits or politics/government

    • Nice to have: proficiency in managing large-scale marketing automation systems (e.g. Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot) and Salesforce admin or super user

    • Nice to have: Product or service marketing experience

    • Nice to have: Google Analytics experience
