Job Description

SkillUp seeks a creative, dynamic, and passionate Marketing professional to help support the Marketing department in key essential functions within the SkillUp ecosystem. This person will work closely with the Marketing Manager in areas of content, social media, marketing strategy, project management, and industry research. This is a <10-15 hour a week> remote-based PAID internship for the months of July - December 2021. The opportunity to extend into Spring 2022 exists for the right candidate. This is a REMOTE position and can be based anywhere in the United States. This role reports to the Marketing Manager, who is based out of California.  

This role involves: 

• Assisting in content planning, development, and execution across social channels, email, web, and virtual events

• Maintaining content calendar across all social channels (planning, scheduling, and monitoring)

• Maintaining website content for national and localized sites (updating pages on a continual basis and supporting team members cross-functionally with website edit needs).

• Responsible for researching and sourcing industry-specific materials as well and networking channels (finding where our users are active and finding tools that best serve our audience and trends in the space we serve).

• Serving as support for email marketing program (template building, deployment of emails, data management)

• Supporting Marketing team with content strategy, Marketing Operations, Marketing strategy, paid and organic content, social media, and communications.

• Collaborating with Marketing Manager to research new social communities for SkillUp to enter 

• Analyzing web traffic on an ongoing basis and collaborate with Marketing Manager and VP of Marketing and Communications on suggestions for UI/UX improvements Research tools in areas of career development, career exploration 

• Interviewing audience members for Marketing and social content 

• Responding to social media inquiries

• Help manage group coaching activities and audience engagement

Qualifications

Ability to multitask and take initiative  Excellent verbal and written communication skills Passion for content writing and content strategy Ability to take direction and willing to learn new platforms and software Passionate about Marketing and storytelling Ability to assist with Marketing operations  Comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders  Experience or passion in social media strategy Passionate about the SkillUp mission and creating economic mobility for underserved populations Comfortable with Google Suite, Slack, Zoom Experience with data reporting or comfortable learning Experience with Mailchimp and Wordpress desired but not required   And lastly.. a sense of humor! Seeking a Marketing intern to join our dynamic Marketing team for 10-15 hours a week  Hourly rate based on experience ($20-$25) This role is remote (PST/MT/ET time zones)
