    Events and experiences are a critical part of all of Skills Pipeline Group’s brand portfolio. Skills Pipeline Group creates dozens of innovative experiences for our target audiences to drive awareness, engagement, meaningful connections and brand affinity. We also tie those events to our recruiting funnel where we work with the top technology companies in the Milwaukee region to identify and acquire top technology talent through a full line of recruiting services.

    As our Recruiting + Experiential Marketing Intern you will be in charge of identifying top technology talent in the region and creating engaging experiences for our network of thousands of entrepreneurs, technologists, venture capitalists and corporate innovators.

    The internship role will entail event research, proper coordination, logistics management, strong event execution, email marketing campaign execution and social media management all critical to enhancing Skills Pipeline Group’s brand and experience.

    Through this role you will gain exposure to many facets of the organization through recruiting for tech talent, event planning, execution and digital marketing with the end goal of creating experiences and opportunities that accelerate the growth of Wisconsin’s tech, startup and innovation ecosystems. The ideal candidate is well-organized, has a strong work ethic and can manage multiple projects at once, as well as a strong intellectual curiosity and passion for building brands through Experiential Marketing. This is a four to six month internship with potential to progress into a full-time position.

     

    Roles + Responsibilities

    • Responsible for supporting the founders and head of Operations with planning, creative development, production, and event execution for their assigned focus areas.

    • Sourcing technology talent through LinkedIn, GitHub and other channels

    • Screening talent through phone interviews and in-person meetings

    • Research and manage event details, budgets, materials and assets for events tied to our various brands such as Startup Milwaukee, Meet the Meetups, etc.

    • Develop and execute various email marketing campaigns on weekly and bi-weekly cadences as assigned by leadership leveraging mailchimp (an email marketing tool)

    • Assist with ordering and shipping promotional and event supplies and materials

    • On-site event management including setup, staffing, AV and tear-down

    • Create and schedule social media posts (instagram, LinkedIn, twitter) for various brand accounts leveraging Buffer (social media post scheduling tool)

    • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems

    • Conduct all appropriate follow up and stewardship after each event including post event recaps, budget actuals and suggestions for improvement

    • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations

    • Leverage Canva (simple web-based design tool) to create various graphics for events and email campaigns

    • Act as a brand champion at all events

    • Previous experience in event management

    • Strong organizational skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality

    • Ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps

     

    Availability + Location

    • Must be able to work 15 to 20 hours per week, must have ability to work events early in the morning or in the evening.

    • Scheduling is flexible based on availability but at least two 4 to 6 hour office days are required every week.

    • You will be based out of Skills Pipeline Group’s office located in Mequon, WI with occasional ability to travel to event sites in Southeast Wisconsin.

    • Must have a valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
