  • Responsibilities

    This role has a specific scope of work:**

    • Integrate VDI with stakeholder software and applications;
    • Integrate open-source file management software with Azure VDIs for both Linux and Windows
    • Adapt legacy Windows applications to work with existing modern code
    • Configure, integrate, and manage Microsoft group policies to meet stakeholder access needs;
    • Support integration of identity management and access control (Microsoft GPO, SSO, LDAP, etc)
    • Stand up and configure windows servers for stakeholder third party applications within the VDI solution;
    • Linux and Windows server configuration and administration
    • Develop the infrastructure as code to deploy the VDI solution and other supporting resources;
    • Automation of infrastructure deployment and management through scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform)
    • Provide initial user support for prototype VDI solution;
    • Connect Azure VDI solution to AWS infrastructure hosting Cloud File Sharing and Storage solution;
    • Ensure accessibility for up to 2,000 users from the stakeholder;
    • Integrate solution with other internal company capabilities;
    • Integrate CFFS with solution to move files into and out of the VDI environment;
    • Provide initial user support for prototype cloud file share.
    • Build, deploy, configure, troubleshoot, maintain the above in an air gapped environment

    This role will need a strong understanding of infrastructure automation, system integration, identity management (user access and controls), open-source file/data management software, virtualization (cloud or native), linux, windows, and application integration. Key Skills: Python, terraform, ansible; NAS / data management (samba, shares, etc); Linux / Windows scripting (bash, powershell); Linux / windows server admin.

    Office hours are flexible, but in this role there is expectation of core hours and meeting attendance. Most work is performed remotely with a geographically dispersed team. Preferred hiring for this role is in the Washington D.C. area. Some travel may be required on an as needed basis, but not often. Must be a U.S. citizen.
