The Systems and Network Engineer works as a team leader and is responsible for aspects of Skywire's technology infrastructure operations, relating to day-to-day support of all production platforms to ensure availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the network, servers, telecommunication services, and information. The role supports a secure, compliant, robust, reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring platforms are efficiently utilized, the cost to operate and support the platforms aligns with group and business expectations, and that all compliance requirements are met for all platforms including, but not limited to, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI-DSS, federal and state security, and compliance regulations. This position reports to the CIO.
Essential Functions
- Manage and administer Skywire-wide multi-user computing systems
- Work with other team members to develop, manage, and maintain IT Infrastructure solutions that meet the infrastructure requirements for customer-facing applications
- Operate and maintain native and cloud-based IT infrastructures
- Collaborate in the planning and design of network solutions
- Evaluate new information technologies that ensure and enhance process efficiency, improve user satisfaction, increase security, or reduce cost
- Supports infrastructure elements including but not limited to servers, storage management, database management, virtualization, recovery management, and threat management
- Assist with technical leadership for desktop support and support of a corporate IT helpdesk
- Support management of IT asset database and configuration management database
- Follows security best practices to maintain the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the information stored on and accessed through the network

Education Required
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of Active Directory management
- 5+ years of network engineering and administration experience
- 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems administration experience
- 5+ years of Windows systems administration experience
- 5+ years of experience with application server installation and configuration
- 5+ years of virtualized computing experience including VMWare
- 5+ years of working with Cisco, Juniper, Siklu and F5 family of products
- 5+ years experience with next-generation firewalls, Checkpoint a plus
- 5+ years experience with AWS deployment and management, Solution Architect experience a plus
- 5+ years of storage array management experience
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software used in a networked and web-based environment
- Experience with information technology designs, setups, installation, and maintenance
- Understanding of security issues, crisis management and business continuity
