    Slice on Broadway - Carnegie (108 East Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106)

    Deliver pizza to customers while providing excellent customer service, always. When not on a delivery, work in the shop assisting as required including non-food duties. At times, the Delivery Driver/Shop Utility Crew Member will be required to take phone/carryout orders or wait on in-house customers and is required to be knowledgeable of menu items and current specials.

    Delivery Driver/Shop Utility Crew Member Duties and Functions:

    Start of Shift:

    Check in with the on-duty Manager for any special assignments for the shift or any deliveries that need to be delivered.

    If there are not any deliveries or special assignments, clean all dishes, restock beverages, restock boxes, and assist in cleaning the shop.

    When Delivering Orders:

    Use of a cell phone for talking is prohibited while driving. If calling the shop is needed for any reason, the driver must safely pull over to communicate on the cell phone.

    All orders must be delivered in order from the earliest order time to the latest unless otherwise directed by the Manager.

    Before leaving the shop, the driver must: (1) check the order completely to insure the driver has all items on the ticket and the correct food;(2) place all hot items in the pizza bag and use a plastic bag for all other items; and (3) check the addresses, phone numbers and plan the delivery route.

    With multiple deliveries on a single trip, each delivery must be bagged separately to avoid delivering to the wrong location.

    When delivering, it is required that the driver take the fastest safest route but must also obey all traffic rules and not drive in an aggressive manner.

    When the driver arrives at the customer’s location, he/she must not obstruct traffic and is required to pull over safely. When the driver arrives at the door, he/she should knock loudly and, when the customer answers greet the customer nicely and state that you are from Slice on Broadway. Read the order to the customer to verify that it is correct, give them the total, and collect the correct amount that is on the delivery slip.

    After completing the delivery quickly head back to the shop again using the fastest safest route while obeying all traffic rules and not driving in an aggressive manner.

    Once back at the shop, the completed order cash/credit card must be placed into the driver’s bag. All drivers are expected to keep money in an organized fashion and are responsible for the total amount due from all slips.

    End of Shift:

    Cash all deliveries in with the on-duty Manager

    Clean all dishes.

    Restock beverages.

    Restock boxes.

    Mop all shop floors.

    Assist in cleaning the shop.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Drives reliable Crew Member owned (or has written consent to use) and insured vehicle to deliver customer orders.

    Must have GPS on a digital device and cradle for the device for use while driving.

    Valid Driver's License and good driving record (no drug or alcohol tickets)

    Proof of insurance for vehicles used for deliveries. The delivery driver must be named specifically on the proof of insurance.

    Must be 18 or older with 2 years of driving history.

    Must be able to comply with oral and written instructions (including GPS directions) and communicate and exchange accurate information so that others will understand.

    May be required to work additional hours depending upon the workload and staffing.

    Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Demands:

    Remain in a stationary position for substantial periods of time, move and traverse within the shop and at customer locations (which may involve steps) as necessary, position self to perform functions required by the position, observe details at close range, transport/move products and goods weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Working Conditions:

    Working conditions involve driving in a car, noise, heat, changes in temperature and weather conditions, odors, moisture, and other conditions common in a restaurant and that exist when driving a vehicle.

    Performance of Essential Functions:

    The Delivery Driver/Shop Utility Crew Member must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.
