Job Description
The HR Generalist is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HR Generalist seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The position may include international human resource responsibilities. The HR Generalist maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage and maintain human resources business administration responsibilities for the Smaato Americas region including employee personnel records for the full employee life-cycle, PTO management and hourly employee time-tracking, immigration documentation, I-9 forms, workers compensation, HRIS data management, employee offers and amendments, employment verifications, variable pay program issuance and documentation, and training records
- Act as an HR Business Partner to the local management team and cross functional teams
- Prepare and audit biweekly payroll batches, administer W-2 statements and W-4 forms, run employee compensation surveys, and manage payroll reporting records
- Stay up to date on the latest HR compliance legislation and federal and local law changes for Smaato’s offices
- Supervise and train the regional Office Management team members
- Supervise the planning, communication and execution of the employee onboarding and offboarding procedures, job descriptions, complete HR new hire training and oversee offboarding and onboarding documentation
- Manage Smaato Americas employee benefits administration and employee support, training, learning and development, qualifying life event changes, benefits billing invoices, leaves of absence and benefits data administration
- Assist the Recruiter with initial screening of candidates in the Americas and occasional sourcing as needed
- Administer and oversee Employee Satisfaction Surveys and performance management
- Research, recommend and implement new techniques, tools and approaches for department improvements, compliance and efficiencies
- Communicate proactively and frequently with the global HR team, regional employees and key stakeholders
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies
