A small business office in Santa Monica seeks an experienced general accountant as we develop our Finance & Accounting team. More details about the firm name, location, etc available upon application. Please note this is an in-person position – off-site and/or hybrid work is not an option. Schedule: In-Office Position – 9 am-6 pm, but flexible on start/end time. Responsibilities: • Work alongside Controller and other staff accountants. • Reconcile GL accounts and bank statements • Forecasting and budgeting expense vs cost • Help with quarterly sales tax returns, financial statement preparation • Assist with payroll entries and accruals • Maintain fixed asset files and schedules and inventory reconciliation • Record A/R, A/P, Misc reporting • Maintains and tracks contracts, invoices, payments, lien release documents, and insurance policy information • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status • Support month-end and year-end close process Qualifications: • 7+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in a construction or real estate environment. • Knowledge of the construction industry, budget, and construction-related experience is preferred • Proficient in Yardi Voyager, Microsoft Excel, etc. • Multi-tasker with an excellent focus on accuracy. • Must be organized and efficient with strong attention to detail. • Take initiative, and work efficiently to meet deadlines. • Bachelors Degree Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 yearly
