POSITION OVERVIEW Our innovative and growing Swim School is hiring for a Gymnastics Instructor with Sweet Peas & Small Fish Big Fish. The Gymnastics Instructor will implement and apply the Educational Gymnastics curriculum of the Sweet Peas program with the support from the Gymnastics Director and Gymnastics team members.

Qualifications
1– 3 years teaching preschool gymnastics as an instructor or coach (preferred)
3 – 5 years working directly with preschoolers to 6 year old children
1+ years of experience and/or education in Early Childhood Development/Early Childhood Education or 6 ECE credits
Strong work ethic, passionate, high enthusiasm, and high energy
Happy to sing out loud, tell big stories, listen to little stories and march with a bean bag on your head
Knowledge of gymnastics skills, mechanics, technique, form and overall participation objectives
Relevant choreography experience with a wide spectrum of gymnastics activities and routines for teaching and for special events.
Superior interactive skills and experience working with children, parents and the public.
Current Pediatric CPR Certification (preferred)
Current Pediatric First Aid Certification (preferred)
Program Development & Management
Participate in the promoting, teaching/ and overall success of program curriculum and special events
Be attentive and responsive to department and gym wide announcements, calendar items, and upcoming events
Assist the Gymnastics Director in meeting the goals and vision of the department.
Conduct gymnastics lessons in accordance to program needs and ensures all safety and program ratios are followed
Enthusiastically assist and cooperate in ensuring all classes are adequately covered by substituting when called upon
Ensure controlled class management enabling equitable time for each gymnast for each planned activity
Attend department and gym-wide meetings
Regularly and consistently teach classes as assigned, understanding the importance of consistency in the learning environment and recognizing that our program has high expectations/strict limitations with respect to employee absences and punctuality
Be flexible with your scheduling and availability, teaching additional classes and/or substitute for others as requested/ when called upon
Safety and Risk Management
Conducts routine checks and ensures proper maintenance of equipment and facility
Review gym and facility safety rules with new gymnasts
Implements and follows training requirements in addition to ensuring proper reporting of all incidents/accidents according to risk management procedures
Customer Service and Relationship Management
Regularly communicate learning objectives to parents through oral communication, written evaluations/handouts and parent meetings
Serves as a community representative building collaborations based on trust and credibility to advance the Sweet Peas & SFBF's mission and goals
Welcome and encourage members and community in the development of programs and activities
Builds Relationships with program participants, parents and staff
Initial and continued skills assessment of each gymnast, providing interval feedback to athletes and parents
