Requirements

What we are looking for:

10 to 15 years of experience in data networking in a satellite, wireless or telecom service provider environment.

Experience with different networking protocols and architectures – LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, 3G/4G/5G core networks, VoIP/SIP/RTP, SMTP/SMPP/SNMP, etc.

Hands-on experience with major equipment/infrastructure vendors’ systems in satellite and wireless industries

Maritime industry experience preferred with an understanding of connectivity needs of various maritime segments

Experience with software development is a plus

Sharp technology and business acumen with commercial orientation

Self-Starter, Creative, Customer-Focused and Team and Goal-Oriented

Metrics-oriented with a strong focus on results, ROI and scalability

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on entrepreneurial environment

BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline

Willingness to travel within and outside US as needed

Job description

What you will be doing:

Work with Technology and Product organization to develop, deploy and maintain data networks necessary to deliver K4’s products and services

Work with equipment vendors and service providers to procure hardware, software and services related to voice, data and video traffic

Write product specifications, SLAs, test procedures and interfaces with vendors/suppliers

Work with internal and external resources to develop and conduct prototype testing and trials

Develop quality requirements to ensure that product/network designs and specifications are suited for handling traffic volumes and reliability requirements

Supports sales and field services organization related to customer requirements and issues
