    Job Description

    Experian’s Oxygen software framework links financial behavior data at massive scale to enable consumers across the globe access credit. Oxygen’s high throughput and high frequency pipelines ingest billions of data events every hour to generate behavioral states and financial risk scores. As a Staff Software Engineer within a highly talented team, you will have the opportunity to create and enhance innovative products that positively impact the financial lives of people across the globe.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Staff Software Engineer will provide leadership on a range of activities such as:

    ·         Applying state-of-the-art concepts and techniques of Big Data Processing and Analytics, Machine Learning and Statistics, Distributed Graph Algorithms etc. towards architecting and designing highly scalable low latency framework for data pipelines.

    ·         Using best practices of functional programming in Scala to implement distributed data structures and algorithms for scaling all stages of the pipeline.

    ·         Driving and completing assigned projects end-to-end with minimal hand-holding.

    ·         Developing unit tests, integration tests and performance tests to ensure exceptional quality of products.

    ·         Contributing ideas and inputs to technical discussions and reviews of code changes, test plans and documentation.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ·         BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.

    ·         BS and 8+ or MS and 6+ years experience in software engineering and data engineering with emphasis on scaling large workloads.

    ·         Expertise in functional programming using languages such as Scala and Python.

    ·         Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, MapReduce and other Big Data technologies.

    ·         Experience with Test-Driven Development and CI/CD.

    ·         Self-starter who enjoys working in agile high-performance environments.

    ·         Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills on technical topics.

    ·         Detail-oriented with effective organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
