Job Description

Reporting to the customer service manager, the field technician will be responsible for installation, repair, maintenance of SET equipment and providing on-site technical training when necessary. To ensure success as a field service technician you should have excellent troubleshooting skills, field experience, and the ability to adapt to a changing work schedule. Must also be able to extensively travel anywhere in the USA and be satisfied living out of temporary living quarters, such as motels/hotels.

To be eligible for employment you must pass the following:

• Drug and Alcohol screening
• Motor Vehicle Report
• Background Check

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Locate, troubleshoot and correct SET equipment deployed in the field 
• Communicate findings, provide daily updates to the SET customer service team
• Follow daily walk route and communicate any inaccuracies found in field
• Provide education and training on SET handheld install tools as needed
• Report leaks or safety hazards found in field to utility and customer service team
• Present a professional appearance and attitude on behalf of SET

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old
• Must possess general mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read, understand and follow written, multi-step instructions, policies and procedures
• Hands-on technical knowledge and ability to efficiently use smartphone and mobile field application
• Basic computer skills
• Great communication skills including ability to communicate project status.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and clients of SET with professionalism and respect
• Must be punctual, responsible and dependable
• Adaptable, flexible and understanding to new or changing instructions
• Ability to work independently while staying efficient
• Must be capable of frequent reaching, bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling and standing for long periods of times. Will occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs
• Extensive travel to any North America customer location

• Commiserate with experience (average = $18/hour)

EDUCATION: Minimum - High School Diploma or GRE. Vocational training is helpful.

PHYSICAL SETTING:

• May be remotely located as base. Headquarters located in Carlsbad CA. Will require extensive travel, occasionally with an extended stay in the assigned location. Region: North America
