Job Summary:

At Smart Transportation WE ARE GROWING! We need caring, compassionate, reliable, and responsible individuals to transport NON-EMERGENDY MEDICAL patients to their destinations safely and on time. We provide you with well-equipped vans and tablet’s as well as all the training to perform your job duties with ease.

Pay: $15-16 an hour

Schedule:

Full Time Schedule is Monday – Saturday, with occasional Sundays. Must be available to work from 4:00AM to 7:00PM.

Split Shift Schedule is Monday - Saturday, must be available to work from either 4:00AM-12:00PM or 12:00PM-8:00PM.

Location: Serving Charleston S.C. Low-Country

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing exceptional customer service to members.
• Transporting members to and from doctor’s appointments, treatment centers, hospitals, programs, and pharmacies.
• Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and protocol.
• Must adhere to all federal, state and agency rules regarding HIPAA Requirements.

Ideal Candidates will have the following Qualifications:

• Must be 26 years of age and older
• Must possess a valid Driving License
• Possess a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Background), no recent tickets, or accidents
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check (No arrest record)
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical
• Ability to pass a Drug Screen
• Ability to pass a Defensive Driving Course and PASS Course
• HIPPA Compliant
• Hands on CPR/1st/AED Certification
• Hands on Wheelchair Certification
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must possess a cell phone
• Ability to follow GPS and use critical thinking to locate addresses
• Ability to follow directions
• Punctuality: show up to work on time
• Have a flexible schedule (be available to start as early as 4:00am and end as late as 7:00pm)
• Availability to work Monday – Saturday (with occasional Sundays)
• Availability to work Holidays
• Have your own transportation to and from work

Education

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least two (2) years related experience and execution of similar duties in non-emergency medical transportation is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting in vehicle.
• Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.
• Hearing and vision abilities with normal range to drive safely and to observe and communicate with clients.
• Regular exposure to injuries and illness
• Exposure to a variety of weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
