Based in Los Angeles (El Segundo), SmartAction is a profitable, midstage startup with proven technology, raving fan customers, and a solid foundation for long-term viability. This position can only be filled by someone working and living in Los Angeles as we slowly transition to a hybrid approach of remote and in-office going forward. 

    Our solution is based on over 10 years of artificial intelligence research and development and is well positioned to fill the significant void between current technology (i.e. “press 1”) and human call center agents who shoulder the load of high volume calls and chats than can and should be automated by AI. It is a truly unique solution within a rapidly expanding technology market for Cloud based AI solutions.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    The ideal candidate will leverage a consultative B2B approach in the SaaS industry to effectively handle the front part of the pre-sales process which is heavy on prospecting. This means targeting prospective accounts with an account-based marketing approach that communicates our value proposition in the language of their vertical and use cases. Experience in virtual agent, conversational AI, or contact center technologies is a HUGE plus but not required.  You should have good presence and experience with complex sales that includes prospecting and the resulting qualification and discovery efforts to identify fit and compel prospects to deeper conversations with a sales executive to build pipeline. As a Sales Development Representive, you will need to thrive in a small, fast-paced environment, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, passion for technology, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurial drive. 

    More Specifically, the SDR will:

    •   Develop, nurture and schedule meetings with key decision-makers from assigned strategic accounts 
    •       Uncover business needs through a patterned, solution-based methodology
    •       Follow up with inbound leads that are generated by marketing
    •       Network and build industry relationships to further awareness and support the image of SmartAction
    •       Partner with assigned field sales representatives to support activities from demand generation to opportunity closure
    •       Responsible for “breaking down doors” to help develop a pipeline of qualified sales opportunities
    •       Collaborate in a team environment to evolve our go-to-market strategies, adding creative ideas
    •       Utilize all channels of communication including phone, email and social channels.
    •       Build and maintain outbound sequences in Outreach 
    •       Achieve monthly goals and track/manage sales activity in Salesforce.com

    EXPERIENCE 

    The ideal candidate will possess a record of accomplishment with proven business orientation. In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

    • At least 1 year experience in B2B SaaS / Tech industry. 
      • Past experience in a high-growth or startup company preferred
    • Business presence on the phone, video conferencing and in-person.
    • Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles with outstanding execution and problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and creativity. 
    • Experience and enthusiasm to use new marketing and sales technologies to engage prospects.
    • A solutions oriented, flexible self-starter who desires to work in a young, rapidly growing, dynamic company – an entrepreneurial mindset.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 
    • Passion, persistence, integrity and ambition to succeed in sales. 
    • Ability to cultivate and build trust with customers.
