JOB MISSION:
WE ARE SEEKING HIGHLY MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN OUR FORWARD THINKING AND GROWING TAX TEAM HERE AT SMARTBOOKS ON A PART TIME BASIS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW INTO A FULL TIME POSITION.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of individual, S corp, partnership, fiduciary and corporate returns
- Tax planning for high net worth individuals and closely-held businesses
- Research tax issues and formulate clear and concise conclusions
- Recommend client tax planning strategies and ideas to managers and partners
- Communication with managers and/or partners regarding engagements
- Develop strong working relationships with clients
- Draft written responses to tax notices from various federal and state tax agencies
- Contribute to and foster a positive work environment
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 2 - 5 years public accounting experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Quickbooks and experience with CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess preferred
- Analytical, technical tax and accounting skills
- Excellent organizational/project management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Deadline-oriented and results-driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a remote virtual environment.
- Entrepreneurial tendencies preferred
JOB TYPE: Part Time - 20-30 hours per week
SCHEDULE:
- Part time with extended hours during tax season as needed
EXPERIENCE:
- Public Accounting: 5 years (Preferred)
