    Job Description

    SMARTCO SERVICES LLC IS A WEB-BASED TECHNOLOGY COMPANY which was established in 2005. There are currently over 70 employees between our two office locations. Our headquarters, located in Taunton, Massachusetts and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

    SmartCo's primary product is a smart inventory program called PartsEye. This program is used by car dealerships internationally to optimize the inventory in their parts department by analyzing their data. We use PartsEye to see what parts a dealership is selling, what parts a dealership has in stock, and consider current industry trends to decide what parts a dealership should order on a daily basis. Our employees provide technical and inventory planning support to all our customers to ensure the program meets their individual needs. Currently, over 4,750 dealerships use PartsEye to meet our ultimate goal, which is keep parts stocked.

    Through skilled and collaborative teams, SmartCo is always developing innovative new programs to advance our goals and proactively meet the needs of our customers. Our focus is on continuous improvement by constantly analyzing current practices and streamlining wherever possible.

    DESCRIPTION

    The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the testing phase of the production process to ensure that final products meet company standards. Duties include identifying whether products are functional, reliable, and meet the end user's expectations. The QA Analyst provides written and verbal communications to internal and external customers, including release notes, product presentations, and support for the Operations department.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs thorough manual and automated quality assurance testing.
    • Gathers and analyzes data on bugs and approved enhancements that internal and external customers discover and propose.
    • Creates detailed reports of bugs and enhancements.
    • Communicates change requirements in thorough and understandable terms.
    • Ensures that bug corrections and approved enhancements are correctly deployed and of high quality through rigorous testing.
    • Looks for trends that point to needed improvements in newer versions of software and future new products.
    • Communicates with internal customers regarding the status of their requests.
    • Assists Operations department during the implementation of new programs.
    • Edits, updates, and maintains documents when needed, including (but not limited to): release notes, presentations, and product documentation.
    • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance in these areas.
    • Learns the basic job functions of personnel serving in the following areas of the Company: new program installations, application support, customer support, and development.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred, or 3 years’ experience in quality assurance testing, product analysis, and/or product support
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills
    • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable goals
    • Critical thinking skills to recommend original and productive ideas
    • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various departments within the Company
    • Basic knowledge or experience with SQL reporting database is preferred
