The Tax Analyst will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. As a Tax Analyst at Latham, you will be responsible for acting as a tax specialist for the firm with regards to preparing income tax return schedules, and tax procedures.  He or she will assist the Senior Tax Analysts and Tax Manager with daily responsibilities of the GSO Tax Department, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

     

    • Analyzing data provided by the finance and accounting group and preparing tax schedules for the preparation of the U.S. federal and state partnership income tax returns, Sales and Use tax returns and international tax compliance requirements.
    • Assisting in coordinating the process of providing information to external tax accountants with respect to the preparation of the U.S. federal and state partnership tax returns and international tax filings.
    • Working with the Senior Tax Analysts to prepare certain general ledger analysis and perform quality assurance procedures.
    • Calculating and preparing the partners’ U.S. and international global withholding tax calculations.
    • Assisting with maintaining a compliance schedule of all U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns.
    • Assisting with any projects needed by the GSO Tax Department or staff.
    • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.

     

    As a Tax Analyst, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Tax Analyst must have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm; ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus; and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. The successful candidate will have the ability to use independent judgment when making majority of decisions and the ability to define problems/issues while using a logical approach to develop and implement appropriate solutions. The Tax Analyst must have organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. The Tax Analyst must also have the ability to use database software, spreadsheet, and word processing software and equipment to complete analysis and reports, including knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.  A CPA or working progress toward CPA is desired. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization is desired.     • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Able to analyze information to create financial analysis and business analytics; familiar with cost accounting and demonstrates strong financial skills
    • Capable, confident, and composed when working under tight deadlines
    • Willing and able to work extended hours to ensure project completion
    • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision
    • Able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends as required
    • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the English language
