Working under the direction of the Custodial Coordinator, the Custodian cleans and services hospitals and office areas in a safe, efficient manner.

EDUCATION:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months of custodial experience is preferred.

Cleans top of windows, door frames and other high places. 

Vacuums, spot cleans, or shampoos carpets when assigned. 

Uses floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wall washing equipment, waste collecting equipment, etc. 

Collects and transports refuse; cleans and relines refuse containers with plastic bags. 

Washes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces disposables such as paper towels and soap. 

Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture including beds. 

Sweeps, mops, and wet washed floors.  Periodically cleans and/or polishes floors using buffing machines.

Ability to build strong internal and external relationships, excellent communication skills, strong business concept knowledge including processes, management, financial reporting, trending, etc. Ability to read, analyze and interpret and apply information from complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to a variety of audiences.
