    Investment Professional – Analyst or Associate, Boston, MA

    Our Client is recruiting an Analyst or Associate for its Global Emerging Markets team. The $3.7 billion Global Emerging Markets Platform (“the Platform”) is focused on making private equity investments into high growth companies and deeply discounted assets across the emerging markets, with a predominant emphasis on Asia (China, India, SEA) and Latin America (primarily Brazil). The candidate will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of the investment and client-engagement process with an emphasis on underwriting prospective new investments, monitoring existing portfolio positions, and in the preparation and presentation of marketing/client-update material. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Conducting primary due diligence, analysis and research on investment opportunities (direct investments, co-investments and fund commitments); • Creating dynamic financial models to value investments, project returns, and perform scenario analysis around key assumptions; • Composing investment memoranda and presenting to internal committees; • Coordinating deal execution with in legal, compliance and operations departments; • Managing and monitoring existing investments, maintenance of the investment team’s proprietary database to aid in investment analysis and decision making; • Preparing portfolio update presentations for existing investors as well as marketing materials to facilitate active fundraising efforts for the emerging markets platform; • Drafting valuation memorandums and quarterly investor reports; cash management • Managing the platform’s investment pipeline. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, 2-4 years of experience in an investment banking analyst program, or analyzing investment opportunities in a buy-side or a sell-side firm. Experience/background in emerging markets is a plus. Skills: Requires a detail-oriented, self-starter with a passion for investment research • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and Microsoft suite expertise • Significant modeling and accounting experience • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Exceptional business & work ethics and ability to multi-task in a team. Successful candidates will be asked to complete and present a case study. Our client is a private equity investment firm which, together with affiliates, has over $13.0 billion AUM across distressed assets, real estate, micro buy-outs and emerging markets. Our client serves approximately 500 institutional clients and over 800 high net worth individuals, and the funds it manages have invested in over 400 private equity funds.
