Engineer Manager (Santa Ana, CA $90K - $120K)

Since our client's inception in 1986, they have been a leading supplier of fiber optic and copper assemblies for voice, data, and video in the United States. They have provided connectivity solutions for international, national, and regional distributors for decades. Providing private label assemblies and contract labor to some of the largest OEM’s in the industry. They maintain both off the shelf and custom solutions for most connectivity requirements. The Engineering Manager is responsible for all engineering activities. These Include Product/process engineering, quality, project management, IT, EH and S, Lean Manufacturing, facilities, and business continuity.

Immediate Opening for an Engineer Manager, Santa Ana, CA who can:

• Build and manage a team of 4 engineers and an extended team of 2-4 technicians

• Product/process roadmap: Execution and planning of the quarterly agreed roadmap with Sales and Operations

• Lean Manufacturing: Implement in the CEX organization to reduce cycle team, increase output and reduce waste

• Product specifications management: Revise current practices in place and implement improvements to reduce workload in sales and operations, increase accuracy, and improve overall quality

• Quality: Revise current quality practices and drive future compliancy with current market standards and corporate guidance

• EH and S: Set-up, deploy and maintain corporate EH and S program

• Facilities: Implement a system for preventive maintenance of the facility, production, and test equipment and processes

• IT systems: Ensure the proper systems are in place and working accordingly to support the business needs

• Sales support: product specifications and drawings, technical assistance, cost analysis, and prototype builds

• Operations support: Product and process set-up and reviews, ensure correct tooling and machinery is available and all required work instructions and training are in place.

• Create and maintain the correct engineering KPI’s and provide a comprehensive dashboard to management to track weekly performance

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 10 years of experience (Master’s degree is preferred)
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing an engineering team (preferably in a manufacturing environment)

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/ assembly environment.

• Bilingual Spanish Speaking Preferred

• Project management

• Lean manufacturing (Green belt is preferred)

• Quality management

• Manufacturing engineering

• Copper and fiber cable termination knowledge is a plus

• Must have experience with collaborative engagements with Sales and Operations
