    Our Client is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing NK and NK-like gamma delta T cell therapies using our patented ACC (Antibody Cell-Conjugation) technology platform. Using ACC technology, we arm immune cells with antibodies to target and eradicate cancer cells. Their mission is to develop safe, effective, and affordable cell therapies to fight and beat cancers.

    Their platforms and products aim to address and overcome the major obstacles in cancer therapy: Ability to target low expression of tumor antigens to better prevent tumor escape; Trafficking of effector cells to tumor locations; Activate the immune system to attack cancer cells.

    About the role

    The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all functions of the team to engage, develop and manage the business development and licensing projects. The candidate will be responsible in in developing business leads and relationships with existing and potential business partners . Primary responsibilities will include: developing and leading the execution of business development functions; research and analyze competitive intelligence (including partners, competitors, molecular targets and disease areas); manage and execute licensing projects to establish the partnerships; provide input into strategy development for various project as needed.

    Immediate opening for a Executive Director of Business Development ,San Mateo, CA, who possesses:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or above in business administration, finance, clinical medicine,
    • pharmacology, or biological science related field.
    • MBA preferred.
    • At least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area

     

    Duties and Responsibilites:

    • Work strategically and support senior leadership on business development projects and related assignments
    • Supports management by providing analysis for evaluating new business opportunities such as in/out licensing, collaborative research and development agreements, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions
    • Support/participate in deal structuring and negotiations for business development transactions
    • Communicate and manage vendors for business development and/or public relationship campaigns.
    • Manage and update corporate website and business presentation slide deck content
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks

    Requirements and Experience:

    • Strong analytical skills required for financial evaluations for transactions.
    • Support/participate in deal structuring and negotiations for business development transactions.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures.
    • Ability to quickly assess situations and opportunities, anticipate potential issues, and suggest creative alternatives to overcome barriers.
    • Ability to work within a multi-functional, global team structure and to motivate team members with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated potential to build rapport with therapeutic and functional area leaders.
    • Strong presentation skills, effective communication and negotiation skills.
    • Detail-oriented and persuasive
