Working directly with the Director or Supply Chain, you will purchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality, and delivery. Plan material flow to ensure minimum investment while ensuring high levels of support to Sales/Program Managers. Drive and deliver division goals related to inventory and freight expense management..     Immediate opening for a Buyer in (Irvine, CA) who possesses:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related.
    • 2-4 years of experience in global supply chain, including experience with international

      supplier base.

    • Strong communication and time management skills
    • In-depth knowledge of reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiations
    • Excellent management and problem-solving skills
    • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
    • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are

      exempt from the geographical area limitation.

       

      Strongly Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in Land Mobile Radio industry, with knowledge of these products.
    • Experience with wireless devices and accessories, or hand-held voice, video devices or
    • other communication devices a plus.
    • Mandarin speaking
    • Sage ERP experience a plus
    • Background in logistics
    • APICS certification (CSCP or CPIM) or equivalent
    • 2 to 4 years of experience in material replenishment

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Develop and participate in the implementation of purchasing strategies to support division sales plan.
    • Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools.
    • Follows through from creation to receipt assuring that products are delivered in a timely manner.
    • Tracking and reporting inventory that is in transit.
    • Coordinates with engineering and product management to assure timely execution of new product release to production, through end-of-life obsolescence planning
    • Manage inbound freight logistics from (primarily Asia) to ensure adequate product

      inventories are maintained. Maximize ocean delivery and minimize air freight.

    • Manage drop shipment of large orders from factory direct to customers as needed.
    • Act with sense of urgency to get required products on order with vendors to minimize

      customer delivery lead times.

    • Work with engineering team and vendors to ensure vendors deliver products that meet our quality and performance specifications. When issues arise, you will work with engineering team and vendors to promptly resolve/improve in a timely manner.
    • Communicate material quality and delivery change requirements to suppliers in an MRP environment.
    • Drive and lead plans to obtain department and division cost improvements and objectives.
    • Participate in problem-solving efforts to resolve rejections, supplier corrective actions and receiving paperwork issues.
    • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management as required.
    • Participate in supplier reduction program.
    • Lead continuous improvement activities, supplier consolidation and transition activities.
    • Proactively resolve supplier invoicing issues and implements corrective actions to minimize future errors.
    • Attend regularly scheduled production and product shortage meetings to provide material parts status.
    • Create RFQs and place purchase orders, negotiate lowest cost to support material demand requirements.
    • React to MRP messages to ensure material supply is aligned to system demand and

      strategically uses system planning and parameters to ensure optimal inventory levels.

    • Prepare material status sheets, milestones, schedules, and presentations as required to support the site reviews.
    • Actively support timely disposition of deviated materials and RTV of defective parts
    • Conduct supplier business review and manage supplier performance improvement

      objectives primarily around delivery or quality expectations.

    • Manages and supports department/company key performance indicators.
    • Manage RFQs for Future Business Proposals
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • 10% travel required.
