This position is responsible for in depth knowledge of power conversion at a power level range of 5 to 500 kilowatts and so much more!     Immediate opening for a Power Electronics Engineer who possesses:

    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or relative 

    • 7+ Years’ Electrical Engineering Experience

    • Circuit and PCB Design Experience

    • Power conversion Experience AC to AC, AC to DC, DC to AC

    • UPS or Battery Charger or Power Supply Design Experience

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Provides engineering services for the design, build, test, and evaluation of electrical power conversion equipment.
    • Generates engineering documents such as BOMs, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, user manuals, etc.
    • Works with Quality Assurance as required providing Failure Analyses, Root Cause determination, and Corrective Actions for internal and external product non-conformances.
    • Works with the Service Department to troubleshoot problems on installed power conversion units.
    • Ability to perform sustaining engineering on Power Converters, UPS, and Battery Charging Systems requiring a working knowledge of: Transformers, Inductors, Capacitors, Current Limiting Reactors, Transient Suppression Devices (MOVs), Relays, Shunts, Thyristors / SCRs, Diodes, Transistors including MOSFETs and IGBTs, Oscillators, Microprocessors, Logic Circuits, Interface and Communication Circuits, PCBs, Voltage and Current Meters, RFI / EMI suppression techniques using filters and Phase Fired Controlled Voltage Regulation methods.
    • Demonstrable proficiency in designing control systems around an embedded processor, including analog to digital circuits, PWM outputs, and serial communications.
    • Ability to generate and capture schematics, and layout PCBs.
    • Ability to evaluate vendors including component specifications and supplier quality.
    • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer (preferred), PCB Express, AutoCAD or similar software.
    • Excellent Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
