    Our client has been providing world-class civil engineering and surveying services in Southern California since 1988 to both the public and private sectors. They provide engineering, planning and surveying services for public works infrastructure, institutional, educational projects, healthcare, civic, retail, residential and commercial/industrial projects.

    They have extensive experience in street rehabilitation, widening and improvement projects and include major storm drain, street, right of way, water, sewer and dry utility design. Our client provides preliminary engineering studies and master planning for drainage, facilities, hydrology and hydraulics, water utilities, sewer, and dry utilities.

    Their survey department provides all design surveys, topographic surveys, boundary, ALTA, right-of-way engineering and construction surveys for public works and private sector projects.

    Immediate Opening for a Water Resources Principal in Los Angeles, CA who possesses:

    • Requires a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. An MS Degree in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering highly desirable.
    • Requires a California P.E. license in Civil Engineering.
    • Requires 10 - 12+ years’ experience in water and/or wastewater engineering analysis, and design of water distributions and/or wastewater collection facilities. (Experience in water treatment and/or wastewater treatment considered a plus.)
    • Central and/or Southern California professional Water Resources network is strongly desired.
    • Experience in project management and managing strong client relations.
    • Experience in managing design teams with minimal supervision.
    • Experience with diverse hydraulic modeling software platforms such as Innovyze, BioWin, and Bentley.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other design software.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Serves as project manager for high-profile projects and clients.
    • Manages client communication and relationship development while meeting with and serving new clients.
    • Meets with clients, municipal officials, contractors, the public, and other related agents to review project needs and coordinate work.
    • Oversees the preparation of plans, designs, specifications, and contract documents for water and wastewater facilities.
    • Manages project budget, schedule, and deliverables in accordance to established QA/QC.
    • Prepares alternative analysis, feasibility reports, and water and sewer master plans.
    • Assists with creating complex water and sewer computer models.
    • Reviews designs and coordinates presentations.
    • In the areas of operations and maintenance:
      • Helps prepare process assessments
      • Develops recommendations for improvement, rehabilitation and/or replacement
      • Assists Instrumentation and Control Engineers with process control descriptions
      • Assists with development of GIS database systems for long-term asset management

       

    • Writes and presents plans and reports to clients, teammates, and agencies.
    • Acts as a technical resource in preparing master plans and designs for public infrastructure systems including water resources.
    • Manages and supervises engineering and technical staff to ensure that project deadlines and needs are being met timely and effectively.
    • Mentors, trains, and oversees young engineering staff.
