    Our client has been providing world-class civil engineering and surveying services in Southern California since 1988 to both the public and private sectors. They provide engineering, planning and surveying services for public works infrastructure, institutional, educational projects, healthcare, civic, retail, residential and commercial/industrial projects.

    They have extensive experience in street rehabilitation, widening and improvement projects and include major storm drain, street, right of way, water, sewer and dry utility design. Our client provides preliminary engineering studies and master planning for drainage, facilities, hydrology and hydraulics, water utilities, sewer, and dry utilities.

    Their survey department provides all design surveys, topographic surveys, boundary, ALTA, right-of-way engineering and construction surveys for public works and private sector projects.

    Immediate Opening for a Structural Senior Engineer,LA, Irvine or SLO, CA who possesses:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering.
    • 8-10 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and detailing of buildings and structures.
    • CA PE license required. SE license preferred.
    • Capable and experienced managing projects from start through construction administration.
    • Experienced developing and maintaining budgets, schedules, scopes, and work plans.
    • Experienced in management of client relationships.
    • Highly proficient knowledge of the California Building Code with the ability to convey that knowledge to others.
    • Design experience in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry structural building systems.
    • High proficiency in engineering finite element design software.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

     

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Independently develops design plans for a variety of engineering projects and provides assistance to project level engineers in the development of design plans for their tasks/projects.
    • Performs calculations for components of structures and structural frameworks.
    • Creates construction plans and details for structures conforming to standards.
    • Directs and provides mentoring to project level engineers.
    • Listens and communicates effectively with staff to maintain team atmosphere.
    • Coordinates with permitting agencies.
    • Manages multiple project engineering, budgets, and schedules.
    • Develops fee estimates and assists the Director in proposal writing.
    • Maintains and manages strong relationships with ongoing clients.
    • Participates in professional and community activities that promote growth.
