Snapology of Fitchburg/Chelmsford is now hiring additional STEAM Summer Program Instructors for our programs on-site at our North Chelmsford, MA facility and off-site at nearby partner locations (for example, in the Lowell, Fitchburg/Leominster, and Westford areas). Responsibilities: You will work collaboratively with 1 or 2 other instructors to engage children in our fun and exciting in-person summer STEAM programs. You will be asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Don't have a background, but have a passion for learning? We will train you and get you up and running.
Lead a small group of up to 16 children (ages 6-12) through curriculum guided activities.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
Adequately prepare for each week's program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, or working toward Bachelor's Degree in education, human services, science/technology field, or related field
Minimum of 1-2 years of experiencing working with school-age children in a classroom or camp environment
Fun, outgoing personality and passion for working with children
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Schedule: Our on-site and off-site programs will run Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-3:30PM, with instructors expected to be on-site from either 7:30AM-3:30PM or 9:00AM-5:00PM. For off-site programs, you will be on-site from 8:15AM-4:15PM. Programs will run for seven weeks from June 24th through August 16th, with no programs for the week of July 4th. If you need some time off this summer, we will work with you! Training will be provided and will be coordinated for the position.
Pay: Starts at $900/week with the potential for end of summer bonus and additional teaching opportunities if desired (late afternoon/early evening classes, birthday parties, and Saturday Parent's Night Out events)
Note: This is a seasonal position and you will be hired as such. However, opportunities exist during the school year, such as February & April Break Camps, after-school classes (2-3 hours, 1 night per week), birthday parties, and more!
