Position:
The primary focus of a Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Assistant Teacher will be to provide support to a Lead Instructor for Snapology STEAM Summer Camp programs being delivered in English to Spanish-speaking students. Assistant Teachers promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills as they support Spanish-speaking students in understanding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Snapology's STEAM Summer Camp programs at the McMinnville School District will be conducted in English by a Lead Instructor for Spanish-speaking children ages 10-14. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Lead Instructor for groups of 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
Support and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Provide support for the management of student behavior in the classroom ensuring established rules and procedures are followed
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, including students with special learning needs
Adequately prepare for each camp program by watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Support the Lead Instructor in handling inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
Encourage parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
Education degree or teaching experience required; teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Bi-lingual (Spanish) Assistant Teacher - STEAM Summer Camps @ MSD typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
