Position:
Part Time STEAM Teacher are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
Current State Fingerprint is preferred.
2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers, pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
School Year Program Specifics:
Teachers will be assigned classes based on availability; current needs are for after school hours between the hours of 3pm-5pm (M-F), and weekends for 2-3 hour blocks
Currently serving Utica, Rochester and Troy school districts
Programs:
Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
Special events, holiday and break workshops

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Part Time STEAM Teacher typically work between 6-20 hours per week.
