    Position Overview:

    The primary focus of the Discovery Center Assistant Manager will be to maintain Discovery Center activities, oversee the safety of guests and promote/grow the business. Assistant Managers are also asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills of students by supporting the Instructors in the classroom. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14, although not all employees are required to work with all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology Instructors & leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    Take ownership of the day-to-day operations of Snapology of Troy in the absence of leadership.

    Monitor children in the use of Discovery Center learning materials and equipment

    Aid in Management of student behavior in the Discovery Center by enforcing rules and procedures

    Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology

    Maintain smooth operation of Discovery Center by ordering supplies, equipment and other necessities.

    Maintain smooth operation of off-site Snapology programs by coordinating with instructors, partners and Snapology leadership

    Organize Snapology program materials

    Work with instructors to maintain inventory and class materials

    Effectively problem solve customer, staff and Discovery Center issues

    Complete special assignments as indicated by Snapology leadership

    Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

    Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs

    Engage in community outreach to grow mobile programs in schools

    Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required

    Teach classes, workshops and camps as needed

    Full-time hours are 30-38 hours/week

    Qualifications:

    Criminal and Child Clearances

    Desire to work with children

    Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

    Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

    Programs:

    Weekday after-school and/or evening classes

    Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties

    Summer camps

    Special events, holiday and break workshops
