Job Description
The Resident Relations Specialist is primarily responsible for performing work involving the establishment, development and coordination of supportive services for residents living in properties owned and/or operated by the Agency. The Resident Relations Specialist is also responsible for assisting and developing the skills of the Resident Associations (RA).
· Knowledge and previous experience with general accounting is preferred.
· Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with other employees, residents, representatives from community/economic agencies, and the general public.
· Must be able to travel to communities when required based on business need.
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on business demand.
· Must have the ability to work successfully with diverse groups and interests.
· Must have the ability to evaluate data and maintain records in an organized manner.
· Must have the ability to analyze, review, and complete reports within specific deadlines.
· Must have the ability to negotiate effectively.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
· Develops partnerships with local service agencies, private citizens, universities, faith-based organizations, and others, in order to coordinate supportive services to meet state requirements.
· Organizes and participates in the direct delivery of supportive services such as arts & crafts, loteria, movie night, food pantry or other essential item delivery, social event, literacy classes, computer classes, and recreational activities for elderly, adults and youth.
· Develops RA members to be able to organize and assist residents.
· Assists residents to reach self-sufficiency.
· Promotes self-sufficiency among residents.
· Develops, implements and evaluates programs that will enable residents to achieve economic and social self-sufficiency.
· Assists RAs with technical items in a variety of resident initiative endeavors, including but not limited to, fund-raisers, socio-economic projects, and social events.
· Coordinates presentations with varied community speakers intended educate and guide residents in a variety of different topics.
· Acts as a liaison between residents and management.
· Represents HOME in meetings with community agencies.
