    Job Description

    Our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will manage and provide oversite to the Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, and Information Technology departments. The Controller will work directly with the CEO and COO on budgeting, Cash Flow Management, and Strategic and Financial Planning.

    This is a full time, exempt position, primarily located in Arden NC, Some flexible and remote options available after 90 days of employment. Candidate must reside locally, in or around the Arden, NC area.

    Necessary Job Functions and Capacity of the position:

    • Scheduling and processing landscaping customer invoices including Pay Apps utilizing AIA Documentation
    • Communicating with General Contractors for payment terms and necessary financial information
    • Preparing the information for all bonding activities
    • Monitoring collection activities of the Accounts Receivable and coordinating efforts with the COO and sales team including client statements
    • Review and approval of Accounts Payable for payment scheduling
    • Working with the sales team and accounting to ensure jobs are set up correctly and monitored
    • Prepare annual financial budget for departmental operations
    • Cash management forecasting
    • Provide General Ledger Accounting, including review of daily transactions for proper posting, Journal Entries, and Accruals for company and subsidiaries
    • Monthly reconciliations of multiple bank, credit card, and loan accounts
    • Daily review of deposits and syncing of banking activity with QuickBooks
    • Prepare monthly internal Financial Statements by department on a timely basis
    • Preparation of WIP reports with full burden costing and Inventory Control
    • Set up and establish a PO system
    • Review of Payroll for multiply companies
    • Payment of Payroll Taxes, Quarterlies, and retirement plan contributions
    • Assisting with Federal and State governmental filings
    • Coordination of data flow with Operations
    • Overall responsibility for job / project management & financial reporting
    • Working with the accounting and human resources on day-to-day basis
    • Working with clients and vendors to make sure all answers are met, and problems solved.
    • Assisting with the selection and implementation of Accounting, Job Costing and Inventory Software
    • Establishing relationships and working with the company professionals - Banks, insurance agents, Corporate Attorneys, CPA’s
    • Working inside industry software such as LMN - Landscape Management Network and “possibly” transition to another Software system
