Associate - Real Estate Litigation - Signing Bonus We seek an associate with experience in real estate and civil litigation, or a strong ability to learn in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. The chosen applicant will join our growing VIRTUAL law firm. Our enterprising firm is poised for aggressive growth. We are looking for an attorney who can hit the ground running, or learn quickly, with a variety of real estate litigation cases including unlawful detainer. We provide an outstanding experience and career growth potential for an attorney with 3 or more years of litigation experience who has an interest in real estate. Our clients are real estate investors and real estate professionals. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in civil litigation – unlawful detainer experience is a plus. Experience with lending and real estate transactions is also desirable, but not necessary. Knowledge of lending, title, escrow, and other real estate issues would serve an applicant well. Experience handling depositions, discovery, law, and motion practice is required. A desire to handle trial work is essential, and training will be provided. We are looking for an A-team player who can handle direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, draft pleadings, conduct discovery, handle depositions, and trial presentation. You need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, the ability to communicate with clients, and use technology. We need a grinder who wants to build litigation experience. We practice throughout Southern California. Some travel within California may be required. A signing bonus will be awarded to the chosen applicant. Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, and certainly considered, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important to us. It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock-n-roll, and we expect that you will put in the work necessary to achieve excellence in your career and for our clients, and a high level of expertise in real estate law. High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals will not succeed in this position and need not apply. If you are unwilling to scan a document or return calls and emails every day, this will not be a fit. We expect excellent communication, a commitment to service, and positive, cooperative relationships. You must be licensed to practice law in California. Salary is commensurate with skill and experience. There will be opportunities for merit bonuses and referral fees. We offer paid time off, medical, dental, and vision benefits. We also pay for continuing legal education, bar dues, and other work-related expenses. If you are interested in a career as a real estate litigator and an opportunity to practice in a dynamic area of law in Southern California, and if you like to work from home, we look forward to reviewing your resume.
