Responsibilities: • Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses • Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, and arbitration • Counsel associates to resolve or prevent conflicts • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions Attorneys at our firm are expected to: • Aggressively manage a caseload of real estate litigation cases involving both residential and commercial property, including unlawful detainer, fraud, quiet title, and action-in-partition cases • Research, prepare, and file required legal briefs, with assistance from our experienced paralegal staff • Meet all court deadlines, attend hearings, and advocate for clients • Investigate claims and defenses of parties prior to initiating litigation, prepare demand letters and initial pleadings to initiate legal claims on behalf of clients • Take and defend depositions • Prepare and conduct civil trials and unlawful detainer trials • Develop an aggressive, yet efficient, strategic approach for each case • Provide leadership and direction to paralegals and office staff • Cultivate relationships with our legal support team, clients, and professional network Qualifications: • Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations • Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree, as well as 3-year law degree from an accredited law school • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • At least 5 years of experience working as a senior associate attorney • Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration • Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of trial experience with civil litigation matters in California, including subjects such as fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, real estate contract disputes, quiet title, action in partition, unlawful detainer, HOA disputes, and foreclosure defense • Experience with residential lending and real estate transactions is also desirable • Knowledge about mortgages, title, escrow, and other real estate issues would put an applicant ahead of others • A desire to handle trial work is essential, and specialized training will be provided • Must be licensed to practice law in California for at least 5-7 years Compensation: $150,000
