    ABOUT SOAPBOX:

Soapbox Films is a creative agency and production company. We will be celebrating our 20th year of creating state-of-the-art, innovative, and award-winning productions that have made our audiences laugh, cry, scream and all the emotions in between. Some of our recent award-winning originals include Muppets Haunted Mansion (Disney+), The Old Ways (Netflix), and The Mortuary Collection (Shudder). We have a small team of incredible people in our Original Content division, and we're looking to bring on an intern to join our team in making some magic!

    INTERNSHIP SCOPE:

The internship begins with a general overview of the work done in the Original Content Division of Soapbox, followed by short periods of shadowing leadership in our core departments (Development, Production, Post, Administration), before moving into a focused study on specialized areas of interest, and wrapping up with some career coaching from our leadership team. Throughout the internship, students will report to their intern liaison for check-ins, questions, and anything else they may need.

THE ROLE: Over the last 15 years, our internship program at Soapbox has kickstarted the careers of many outstanding people. Some continue at the company today in senior leadership positions, while others have gone on to success at Disney, Netflix, Universal, and more.

The ideal intern will be someone who is looking for their first job in the entertainment industry and is eager to gain experience and learn skills in many disciplines that will help them gain confidence as they launch their careers.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide general office assistance & maintenance including handling heavy phones, greeting visitors, copying, filing, doing deliveries…  all the duties that are critical to our day-to-day operations

    • Create and update project tracking spreadsheets
    • Be at-the-ready to assist various departments and projects, and - whether it's cataloguing iconic movie moments from a cinematic franchise or picking up a batch of props while everyone on set is waiting - embrace whatever roles, tasks, and opportunities the day presents

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must been in the process of or have recently completed your education, and starting out in the industry
    • Must be available for the entire 4-month program (Approx. Tuesday, September 6th - Friday, December 16th). Housing is not provided.
