    Job Description

    The Security Training Manager/Lieutenant shall oversee the efficient operation of the Security Department during assigned shifts.  The Security Training Manager/Lieutenant shall be responsible for scheduling, evaluation and training of personnel.  The Security Training Manager/Lieutenant shall develop, implement, facilitate and schedule all security unit/team member training.  The Security Training Manager/Lieutenant shall seek new training opportunities and/or updates to current training to elevate the level of training and expertise in the Security Department.  

     DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide the highest quality guest service 

    • Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned 

    • Ensure that all phases of security are enforced throughout the facility

    • Review departmental logs and reports to confirm proper documentation

    • Maintain proper safety procedures

    • Operate a motorized vehicle

    • Develop, instruct and oversee training courses specific to the Security Department

    • Development of training curriculum 

    • Maintain and review logs and reports to confirm proper documentation for training purposes

    • Maintain all security-related training records

    • Manage the Field Training Officers

    • Develop/maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies & regional tribal gaming partners

    • Leverage past training experience in law enforcement, security operations and emergency management/disaster preparedness to elevate the level of organizational readiness  

    • Ensure a thorough, relevant/updated field training program for newly hired security personnel 

    • Conduct investigations of incidents that occur on property, and follow up with written documentation, or verbal reports, as necessary, i.e. court appearances, depositions, etc.

    • Ensure enforcement of all laws, Soboba Casino policies and procedures, Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission regulations, and internal controls

    • Assist the Security Director with departmental budget information, goals, objectives and in the formation/implementation of annual training matrix

    • Assist in the review, updating and development of Security Department policies and procedures

    • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record

    • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Hire, train, coach and supervise Security team members. 
    • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
    • Monitoring and assessing service and satisfaction trends, evaluating and addressing issues, and making improvements accordingly. 
    • Ensuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in team members.

    • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity
    • Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing the Casino’s operations in all its business endeavors

    EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be 21 years of age, or older
    • High School diploma or equivalent, required
    • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferred
    • Minimum four years security or law enforcement experience, required
    • Minimum two years security or law enforcement supervisory experience, required
    • Prior experience as a trainer or instructor as it relates to Security or Law Enforcement, required
    • Experience in a Gaming, Retail, Resort, entertainment or hospitality environment, preferred
    • Experience supervising/managing a team of 20+ employees, preferred
    • Must have a valid Driver License
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to promote a positive and professional image
    • Any education beyond the minimum requirement, as well as any experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary, shall be considered
    • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission License 

    • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing

    • Current California Driver License and clean driving record (less than 3 points)

    • BSIS Security Guard Card or Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) License within six (6) months of hiring
