    Position Summary: 

    The Systems & Data Support Manager will generate solutions to determine how people, systems, and information technology can best be integrated to bring about improvements in the organization and help scale our impact. Understanding the business and technology needs of SEAL, this role will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of efficient IT and data systems. The role will perform systems analysis and gather feedback from end users to continue improving internal processes and work towards new enterprise solutions that facilitate the effective operations and programs of SEAL. Tasks involve analyzing business processes and program needs, specifying technical requirements, investigating/evaluating alternative approaches, and implementing solutions including designing, developing, deploying, and supporting solutions encompassing enterprise applications and database systems. The role will work closely with team members across all departments in order to efficiently administer client-facing tech systems and provide outstanding service and data-driven analytics. This work will ensure SEAL has an accurate “system of record” for services and delivers product tech to clients while supporting SEAL internal users.

    Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

    The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. The

    employee may perform other duties as required.

    • Collaborate with SEAL staff and/or consultants to develop recommendations and design highly functional systemic enterprise solutions including database, middleware and user interface components

    • Evaluate existing software and service solutions to determine their viability, and lead the design of new tools to implement SEAL developed learning applications

    • Support SEAL program initiatives by providing technical leadership and guidance regarding data-related processes, including but not limited to data collection, storage, backup, management, processing, analysis, and reporting

    • Design and implement database systems across multiple solution technologies

    • Lead development, implementation, and migration of data across successive versions and diverse technologies of database software. 

    • Manage the ongoing maintenance and support of existing enterprise databases

    • Develop methods of data collection, reporting, and data visualization to inform innovative operations and services and continuous improvement.

    • Manage central mailing services including building targeted mailing lists, performing ongoing database cleaning, and formulating updates to html mail and website content as required to finalize content and design elements for mailing items

    • Develop and maintain database tools for event administration and client communication, and train and support staff in the registration processes for event management utilizing marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.

    • Lead technical development with a variety of software applications, including e-learning & LMS platforms.

    • Manage and administer multiple E-Learning systems and platforms (e.g., Litmos, Torsh, etc.) and ensure timely provisioning, configuration, and user management

    • Use technical knowledge and system metrics in order to troubleshoot and solve system-level problems and to enhance overall system performance

    • Lead IT security, system maintenance, and document operating procedures for new and existing IT services, including instructional material for operation

    • Support website management and perform critical updates to web content

    • Support virtual events and live webinars with ZOOM and other webinar platforms

    • Oversees end user support, license tracking, PC maintenance and configurations

    • Lead vendor relations related to installation and configuration of computer hardware, software, systems, and networks

    • Manages and oversees the setup of accounts for users and provides leads technical support, training, and onboarding for enterprise applications, as needed

     

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree required, with a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field preferred.

    • Experience in public education administration and/or nonprofit preferred

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience encompassing systems support, systems analysis, enterprise applications development, user interface design, and database development. Experience in web application development, server administration, user support, and technical documentation is preferred

    • Demonstrated ability to independently anticipate and analyze situations, define problems and objectives, recognize viable alternatives and formulate solutions

    • Demonstrated ability to create processes across multiple departments

    - Experience designing, developing, and deploying FileMaker Pro and SQL databases

    • Knowledge of and experience with relational database design

    • Familiarity with data concepts, and the ability to execute data-related processes including data collection, storage, management, retrieval, reporting, and analysis

    • Experience evaluating the relationship of data to business goals and objectives

    • Experience designing, developing and using spreadsheets 

    • Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite

    • Expertise with implementation and design of file management and cloud storage

    • Knowledge of IT security functions and practices

    • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, organize and manage projects, make independent decisions, and complete assignments under pressure of deadlines

    • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to exercise leadership and work cooperatively and independently with all persons and to respond flexibly

    • Proficient in writing  professional reports and correspondence, including system and end-user documentation

    • Demonstrated ability to clearly document  system architecture, workflow processes and business logic; efficiently maintain documentation for future retrieval

    • Skill and experience researching and analyzing problems in a multi-faceted way, and developing and participating in implementing innovative solutions

    • Experience with GoDaddy (domain host), WP Engine (web host), WordPress (website content manager), Google Suite, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, Microsoft Suite, ZOOM, Boomerang, Jamf, Flickr, Doodle, CrashPlan, Articulate 360 and Rise, Litmos, Prezi, EdPuzzle, Jamboard, Kahoot, Padlet - all a plus
