Job Summary
This is a weekend only position.
Soccer Instructors and Officials play a vital role in delivering the i9 Sports Experience for players, parents, and coaches. This position is hands-on and highly interactive, involving practices and game-day operations across various age groups and skill levels.
As an Instructor, you will support and empower volunteer coaches while ensuring instructional standards and sportsmanship values are consistently delivered.
As an Official, you will enforce rules while also serving as a culture cultivator—providing instruction, promoting fairness, and creating a positive on-field environment for all participants.
Responsibilities
Instructor Responsibilities
Empower and support volunteer coaches during practices
Teach and demonstrate fundamental skills and core sportsmanship values
Observe, assess, and assist coaches to enhance player development
Supervise the overall operation of the designated sport on game day
Assist with officiating during games as needed
Set up and break down fields and equipment
Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to families
Official Responsibilities
Understand and enforce i9 Sports rules to ensure a safe, fun, and educational environment
Teach and reinforce sportsmanship values during games
Keep game time and score while managing age-appropriate instruction and competition
Serve as an impartial on-field coach and advocate for the program
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor with players, coaches, and spectators
Set up and break down fields and equipment
Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sport-specific coaching or playing experience
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong awareness and ability to manage situations to ensure player safety
Positive attitude with the ability to build strong professional relationships
Availability to work weekends for the duration of the season (approximately 6-7 weeks)
Ability to pass a National Criminal Background Check
