    Soccer Shots (the official two to five-year-old program of US Youth Soccer) named Best of Austin 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 by the Austin Chronicle - is a fast-growing, intro-to-soccer program offered throughout Austin and San Antonio. Through relationships established with private childcare centers in addition to public "park" programs, Soccer Shots is currently serving over 3000 children per season between the ages of 2 and 8 years of age. We are looking for a Program Specialist to add to our dynamic Austin team.

    Position Overview:

    To make positive impact on children through coaching soccer, providing administrative support to the team, and building our presence in the community.

    The selected Program Specialist joins a small leadership team of highly dedicated and committed individuals seeking to deliver the best children's soccer experience in the country. This team values a strong work ethic, a commitment to the mission of Soccer Shots, strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, dedication to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and creativity. In addition, we're seeking an individual who desires to improve and grow our program and who desires advancement opportunities and responsibilities within the company. The Program Specialist serves the team by helping out with the following duties:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Coaching 20-25 sessions per week (Positive Impact)

    Street team marketing

    Support of team: admin, scheduling, customer support

    Direct Supervisory Responsibilities:None

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Commitment to the mission of Soccer Shots to positively impact children’s lives; passion for the game and making a positive impact in each child’s life

    Ability to present the Soccer Shots program clearly and professionally to prospective clients, confident in promoting the Soccer Shots program.

    Highly motivated — seeks a professional opportunity where upside is based on performance.

    Communicates clearly and professionally (both oral and written)

    Experience as a strong leader

    Experience with young children (ages 3-5) preferred

    Team oriented

    Savvy with Social Media

    Experience with Macs and numbers/excel

    Prompt and timely — in all aspects of the business, including communication with both customers and Soccer Shots staff

    Professional — neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with day care center staff and directors

    Organized — able to work independently, able to prioritize, able to multi-task without getting easily stressed - must stay balanced.

    Creative - thinks outside the box

    Soccer enthusiast — (preferred) has some playing or coaching experience (high level not required), appreciates and understands soccer and is passionate about promoting the game.

    Enthusiastic — must enjoy working with kids and shows enthusiasm naturally.

    Sense of humor — we enjoy what we do!

    Flexible and adaptable — this is an organic position.

    Happy and cheerful demeanor - PEOPLE PERSON

    Educated — Minimum of a B. A.

    Must have own transportation and proof of insurance.

    Must pass DFPS and FBI Fingerprinting background check.

    Must be CPR/First Aid certified or be willing to get certified.

    Work Hours:

    This is a full-time, exempt position. During seasons, expected working hours will vary and will include working on Saturday mornings and some weekday evenings.

    Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

    Functions in a temperature controlled office environment a portion of the time.

    Work requires ability to sit, stand and walk throughout an extended work day (8 – 10 hours); position requires use of fingers, hands and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers and phone conversations.

    Position functions in an inside/outside sports environment a portion of the time throughout the year which may include temperatures of extreme heat or cold.

    Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40 minute increments per session. Position requires use of hands, arms, legs and feet and may include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Moderate gymnasium like noises are associated with this position as well as excellent vision skills (with or without correction).

    This position requires extensive driving in and around the San Antonio area. The Program Director is required to drive to multiple sites during the week and on weekends to provide coaching, coaching assessments and support as needed.
