    Soccer Shots:

    Soccer Shots Central Indiana is a fast growing, intro-to-soccer program offered throughout the Central Indiana area. Through relationships established with private childcare centers, in addition to public “park” programs, Soccer Shots Central Indiana is currently serving over 8,000 children, between the ages of 2 and 8, each year. Our motivation is to impact children in both soccer education and character development with application to all areas of children’s lives. We are motivated by a desire to see children experience the game of soccer and to enjoy the rewards that participation in the game offers. Our mission is simple: to positively impact children’s lives through the game of soccer.

    Job Description:

    The Director of Operations leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments. The Director of Operations integrates all major operating functions of the business and ensures everyone is rowing in the same direction. They model the way, working toward the greater good of the business. The Director of Operations is responsible for handling all scheduling, creates and maintains the master calendar, and is responsible for customer relationship management (customer calls/emails). They participate in the management of school and partner relationships, as do other leadership team positions. The Director of Operations is expected to play an active role in the growth, success, and impact of Soccer Shots Central Indiana in the community and will represent Soccer Shots Central Indiana with excellence. The Director of Operations is a true leadership position and serves as the direct supervisor to all program coordinators and administrative staff. The Director of Operations responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1. SCHEDULING/ADMINISTRATION

    Scheduling

    Handles all scheduling, including season schedules, demos, coach schedules, and re-schedules.

    Creates and maintains the master calendar.

    Manages online platforms in conjunction with the HR & Events Coordinator and any other administrative staff.

    Creates seasonal marketing for each program location (forms, marketing flyers, etc).

    Responsible for scheduling and paperwork for public program seasons.

    Communication

    Answers phone calls and emails in a prompt, accurate, and professional manner (customer relationship management).

    Responsible for sending out season welcome packets, session summaries, and meet your coach sheets.

    Responsible for following up with NPS survey comments and suggesting improvements based on survey feedback.

    Marketing Support

    Responsible for the execution of bandit sign marketing

    1. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

    Accountable for a minimum of 12 school visits each season (must be tracked with spreadsheet).

    Confirm season dates and schedules.

    Coordinating and delivering director/staff gifts.

    1. BUSINESS OPERATIONS

    Responsible for the development of Soccer Shots core processes documents.

    Continually streamlines processes and systems for better productivity.

    Ensures everyone is following and adhering to the company’s core processes and operating systems, with consistency.

    Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments.

    Integrates all major operating functions of the business and ensures everyone is rowing together, in the same direction. Models the way, working toward the greater good of the business.

    Resolves issues effectively – seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out lack of accountability, and solving problems in a practical and healthy manner.

    Maintains professionalism in office appearance and culture.

    Responsible for weekly and biweekly 1:1 meetings with direct reporters.

    Responsible for quarterly people analyzer evaluations and yearly evaluations, for all leadership team members (direct reporters).

    Leadership Team Integrator – responsible for running weekly L10 meeting and EOS implementation into business (EOS Traction by Gino Wickman).

    Responsible for attending all seasonal staff meetings, weekly L10 meetings, quarterly and annual planning meetings, corporate trainings, leadership workshops, and national convention.

    1. COACHING

    Responsible for coaching 5-10 classes per week.

    Will fill-in when necessary (for last minute call-offs, coach vacations, etc).

    Must be able to coach evenings or Saturday mornings as required.

    Ability to coach exceptional, high energy classes solo (at an A level).

    Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

    The job description above is a full-time, exempt position. Some times of the year may be busier and require more work, while other times will be slower and require less work. Typical/expected working hours are Monday through Friday, between 8:00am to 5:00pm (may also include weekday evenings or weekend mornings). Functions in a temperature controlled, office environment the majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout an extended work day (8-10 hours); position requires use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work.

    This position also functions in an inside/outside sports environment. Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, and bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40-minute increments per session. The position requires use of hands, arms, legs, and feet and may include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Moderate gymnasium-like noises are associated with this position as well as excellent vision skills (with or without correction). This position will require, at times, the ability to yell and loudly project the voice for up to 40-minute increments per session. This position also requires driving throughout the Greater Indianapolis Area (Marion, Hendricks, Hamilton, and Boone Counties).

    Program Objectives:

    For Soccer Shots Central Indiana to be the best run, most popular, and most successful elective program offered in Central Indiana.

    For Soccer Shots Central Indiana to have the best coaches, curriculum, and communication in the youth sports education space (in the Central Indiana region).

    For Soccer Shots Central Indiana to have a reputation of excellence (i.e. “That’s the group that runs that awesome soccer program…my kids loved it…those instructors are great.”). An objective measure of each territory’s reputation for quality will be learned in the Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey conducted at the end of each season.

    Key Performance Measurable:

    Prompt, reliable, and professional communication – responds professionally to director, teacher, and parent questions within 8 hours or less, and always responds to franchise owners and other Soccer Shots Central Indiana support staff within 12 hours or less. All emails and calls received by 5:30pm, must be answered before ending business for the day.

    Run A level classes.

    Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments every quarter (team members should achieve 80% green scorecard and 80% rock completion each quarter).

    Leadership team fully staffed throughout the entire calendar year.

    Weekly or biweekly 1:1 meetings with all leadership team members.

    Completion of quarterly people analyzer evaluations for all leadership team members and one yearly evaluation per leadership team member.

    Minimum of 12 school visits per season.

    Lead team to meet or exceed yearly enrollment number goals (number of children to be served each year).

    Adhere to budget guidelines.

    Adhere to all company policies and represent Soccer Shots with professionalism and integrity.

    80% green scorecard and 80% rock completion each quarter, for the Director of Operations position.

    Compensation/Additional Benefits:

    $40,000-$55,000 per year (DOE)

    Remarkables Bonuses – $10 per remarkable (positive parent/director comment where employee/coach is identified by name). May come from NPS results, parent/director emails or phone calls, etc.

    Additional bonus potential at discretion of owners.

    Paid holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Holiday and New Year’s (12/23 – 1/2).

    Personal days: 6 days per year (does not accrue or carry over). Vacations must be approved 6-8 weeks in advance of the season they are taken in. Vacations during the off-season are preferred.

    Sick days: 4 days per year (does not accrue or carry over).

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree required.

    Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a director of operations, area manager, executive, business owner, or similar role.

    Strong knowledge of office management and the employee laws including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, staff evaluations, performance reviews, and staff discipline.

    Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.

    Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and supervisors.

    Demonstrated success and experience in leading high performing teams.

    Demonstrated ability to manage systemic change and successfully implement reform initiatives that produce gains.

    Strong communicative and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written (strong understanding of proper grammar).
