    Objectives / Responsibilities

The objective of this internship will be to support Soccer Shots leadership staff and coaches by completing projects related to business operations and event planning.

Event Planning - make preparations for Soccer Shots Pittsburgh's annual Family Fun Fest, including assessing and securing an event location, solicitation of donations, making preparations for food / beverage, securing vendors, making arrangements for entertainment, etc.

Marketing - assist in distribution of paper marketing flyers to numerous locations throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. Assist in placing yard signs throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. Post information regarding Soccer Shots' programs online for advertising purposes. Oversee Soccer Shots Pittsburgh's Instagram account.

(If applicable) Photography / Videography - Intern may be tasked with producing photography and/or videography projects which will help to bolster the online presence and communication efforts of Soccer Shots Pittsburgh. Travel to our Pittsburgh-area locations to photograph during our soccer sessions will be required. Intern will be tasked with editing photos and preparing photos for sending to parents and clients and also for use in our marketing and promotional efforts. Depending upon applicant's experience, this could include more professional-type work or could be basic point-and-shoot camera work with a cell phone or basic digital camera.

Interns should also be willing to perform other duties as requested in order to to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values. Duties may include assisting with paper flier drop-offs, placing yard signs around the area, attending company events, participating in in-person and online staff training meetings.

    Requirements

Intern must be able to work approximately 10-15 hours per week. This is NOT a full-time opportunity.

Please Note: This is a slightly atypical position in that you will have only very occasional in-person contact with the rest of the Soccer Shots team. Many of our staff members work remotely; as such, much of our communication takes place via email, text messaging, phone calls, and online video conferencing. Given this, the candidate MUST be motivated, organized, communicative, and self-regulating. This position is NOT suitable for those who require a significant amount of oversight or a socially-driven work environment.

    Internship Structure and Compensation:

The internship is very flexible schedule-wise; this is not a structured, in-office internship with a set number of hours per week. Each internship is unique depending on time of year, program needs, and candidates' interests and abilities. As noted above, we do expect to need the intern to work approximately 10-15 hours per week for us, but that number could potentially increase depending on the intern's capabilities.
