    Soccer Shots Pittsburgh is hiring a reliable, personable, communicative, & engaging Full-time Coach Training Coordinator to help us pursue our Company Vision Statement: "To positively impact children's lives and to provide a remarkable experience for their families on and off the soccer field through best-in-class coaching, communication, and curriculum."

    The Coordinator, in collaboration with the rest of the Coaching Leadership Staff, is responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating, developing and retaining new coaches. This position takes a primary role in identifying training initiatives and collaborates with the Soccer Shots Pittsburgh Leadership Team to ensure that all coaches are prepared to excel in delivering coaching sessions that are the best 30 - 45 minutes of each child’s week. The Coordinator will also be responsible for coaching between 15-25 of their own Soccer Shots sessions per week.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE SOCCER SHOTS PITTSBURGH COACHING TEAM - The Coaching Coordinator will assist with oversight and management of the Soccer Shots Pittsburgh coaching department, including full-time coaches, part-time coaches, and interns.

    This will involve preparing for each season launch, including work to schedule and assign shifts in Sling and Configio.

    COACH DEVELOPMENT - The Coaching Coordinator will participate in recruiting, hiring, training, on-boarding, developing, and retaining coaches. Such tasks may include: networking for new hires, setting up new hires with e-learning courses, confirming time sheets, running a weekly attendance report, interviewing, scheduling and shadowing new recruits, co-leading sessions with coaches-in-training, leading coaching clinics and trainings, preparing seasonal coaching assignments in Configio & Sling, and performance management / evaluations.

    The Coaching Coordinator will tally up and identify our seasonal coach award winners.

    The Coaching Coordinator will be actively and regularly involved in the welcoming of and on-boarding / training of new hires. This will involve distance interactions (online meetings, phone calls, Sling messages, etc.) and in-person interactions (in-office, on-field, etc.).

    CURRICULUM REVIEW - The Coaching Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough knowledge of Soccer Shots curriculum and will train and evaluate coaches in its implementation. Training includes providing tips and tricks to Coaches on implementation. Evaluation includes identifying revisions to curriculum to ensure the delivery of exceptional programming. If needed, the Coaching Coordinator will be responsible for creating a- curriculum snapshot document prior to each season, as well as supplementary support documents to be utilized by our coaching staff.

    A primary responsibility will involve weekly Sling posts to share tips, suggestions, feedback, etc. and to provide suggestions to coaches regarding particular elements of the curriculum so as to increase engagement on Sling and to provide additional support and direction to our coaches.

    The Coaching Coordinator is responsible for providing regular curriculum feedback to SSF.

    INSTRUCTOR ROLE As a Soccer Shots Coaching Coordinator, you will be required to coach at any Pittsburgh-area sites, per the direction of the Soccer Shots Director of Coaching. The session load typically ranges from 15-25 sessions per week, but may fluctuate outside of this range given our season cycle. As the seasonal workload shifts throughout the year, adjustments will be made to ensure there is an appropriate workload balance. It is up to the Coordinator to appropriately schedule their time and to make adjustments as necessary.

    COMMUNICATION - Soccer Shots Pittsburgh expects timely and appropriate communication from team members; we follow a "24-hour rule" and ask that acknowledgements / responses be sent within 24 hours of a communication. Many of our staff members work remotely; as such, we need a reliable person who regularly checks and responds to email, text messages, phone calls, and other communications. Much of our communication and interaction takes place via email, text messaging, phone calls, and online video conferencing; the Coordinator must be comfortable participating in and utilizing such forms of communication on a regular basis with very high expectations for responsiveness.

    MARKETING SOCCER SHOTS The Coaching Coordinator will help to market Soccer Shots to the greater Pittsburgh community with seasonal drop-offs of marketing materials, including flyers and yard signs.

    Additional marketing / PR responsibilities may include participation in local community and social events.

    IMPLEMENTATION OF EOS / TRACTION Soccer Shots Pittsburgh utilizes the EOS small business operating system to manage and strengthen our business. As a leadership member for the Coaching Department, the Coordinator will be responsible for setting and meeting weekly, seasonal, and annual goals, timelines, and deadlines to ensure the team is adequately staffed for planned growth and program excellence. This will involve the occasional running of reports, tracking of certain metrics, and meeting expectations for seasonal procedures & deadlines. The Coordinator will work to develop systems and have written core processes for Coaching Department procedures. Integral to this will be planning for and involvement in weekly Coaching Department meetings.

    RECRUITING The Coaching Coordinator will be involved in our recruiting efforts, including phone interviews, in-person interviews, evaluations of candidates, and in-person recruiting events.

    LOCATION MANAGEMENT AND RELATIONSHIPS While our Operations Team handles field reservations and communication with location contacts at our host facilities, the Coordinator will, from time to time, be responsible for helping with the management and relationships of schools currently overseen by the Soccer Shots office and any new sites. Maintaining and enhancing school relationships is a top priority of all team members at Soccer Shots. The Coordinator is particularly helpful in this regard when visiting locations to coach or to train / observe coaches, and can provide an in-person touch point for our host facilities.

    Work Hours / Location:

    This is a full-time, exempt position. During seasons, expected working hours will vary and will include working on weekends and some weekday evenings.

    This position will be based partially out of our office in Carnegie, PA and partially from home and will require routine, daily travel to our session locations situated throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This position will involve a mix of weekday, weeknight, and weekend working hours; this is not a traditional M-F 9-5 position, but requires flexibility. A mix of daytime, weeknight, and weekend availability is required for this position.

    Expected working hours will vary from season to season and will include routinely-scheduled weeknight and weekend hours. It is expected that the Coordinator will work, at minimum, 3 evenings per week (can be on a rotating basis - different days each week to ensure face time with as many coaches as possible), with regular weekend (Saturday / Sunday) morning hours. Weeknight / weekend hours can be flexed out during other days of the week. It is up to the Coordinator to appropriately schedule their time so as to meet the demands of the role.

    Please note: you will have only occasional in-person contact with the rest of the Soccer Shots team. Many of our staff members work remotely; as such, we need a reliable person who is self-motivated, self-regulated, driven, and goal-oriented individual. Much of our communication takes place via email, text messaging, phone calls, and online video conferencing. Given this, the candidate MUST be motivated, organized, communicative, and not afraid to get their feet wet right away. This position is NOT suitable for those who require a significant amount of oversight.

    This position requires extensive driving in and around the Greater Pittsburgh area. The Coordinator is required to drive to multiple sites during the week and on weekends to conduct coaching assessments and provide coaching support as needed.
