Soccer Shots Pittsburgh is looking for a full-time Youth Soccer Coaching Coordinator. The Coaching Coordinator will work under the direction of our Director of Coaching. The Coordinator will be instrumental in the management, recruitment, training, and support of our part-time coaches and will also be responsible for coaching approximately 20-25 of their own Soccer Shots sessions per week.
If desired, some sales may also be incorporated into this person's role.
This position will be based partly out of our office in Carnegie, PA and partly from home / the soccer field and will require routine, daily travel to our session locations situated throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This position will involve a mix of weekday, weeknight, and Saturday working hours; this is not a traditional 9-5 position, but requires flexibility and a willingness to work in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.
A mix of daytime, weeknight, and Saturday availability is required for this position.
Youth Soccer Coaching Coordinator Job Description:
"Stronger Youth. Beyond the Game."
Soccer Shots Pittsburgh seeks employees who espouse our Core Values: We care. We pursue excellence. We are stronger together. We are candid. We own it. We grow.
**IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: This is a slightly atypical working scenario in that you will have only occasional in-person contact with the rest of the Soccer Shots Leadership Team, as several team members work remotely. Many of our staff members work remotely; as such, we need a reliable person who can work alone and who is a self-motivated, self-regulated, driven, and goal-oriented individual. Much of our communication takes place via email, text messaging, phone calls, and online video conferencing. Given this, the candidate MUST be motivated, organized, communicative, and not afraid to get their feet wet right away. This position is NOT suitable for those who require a significant amount of oversight or highly structured work environment.
The Coaching Coordinator, in collaboration with the rest of the Coaching Leadership Staff, is responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating, developing and retaining new coaches. This position also takes a primary role in identifying training initiatives and collaborates with the Soccer Shots Pittsburgh Leadership Team to ensure that all coaches are prepared to excel in delivering coaching sessions that are the best 30 - 45 minutes of each child’s week.
We are looking for candidates who...
Like to have fun and really love working with kids! We mean really, really love engaging with kids i.e., you can spontaneously come up with different voices, silly songs and dance moves to enhance a teaching moment. You recognize and celebrate each child's effort and continuously role model this enthusiasm to others.
Continuously pursue excellence in themselves, their organization and others. Are you the type who reflects on a job, task or event, celebrating what worked and identifying what might be improved? Are you comfortable holding others to a high performance standard?
Want to make a difference. Are you energized by the opportunity to positively impact children and families? Are you committed to helping coaches develop to their full potential?
Remain mindful, calm and balanced even if things didn't go as planned. Are you the type of person who has a plan B, C and sometimes a plan D?
Thrive on collaboration and being a team player. Are you willing to do what it takes to help provide a great experience? Do you recognize and respond when a team member needs help?
Hustle, work hard, innovate and create. And love doing this over and over again.
